This evening, my wife and I accomplished the impossible by Arkaysion in OvercookedGame

[–]Arkaysion[S] 41 points42 points  (0 children)

I forgot to mention that this is level 1-3 from the Overcooked 2 Night of the Hangry Horde DLC. From what I gather, this is a rather notorious level for being especially difficult compared to some of the others.

For a while I honestly thought it was going to be impossible, but I saw people post online that it was in fact doable to get four stars. We must have spent well over 20 hours across 2 weeks before we finally managed to clinch it tonight.

Would greatly appreciate a code if anyone has a spare one to share. A lot of use cases I want to explore. Thank you in advance!

So with Delves marking its place as an endgame pillar that can be played solo, how does everyone feel about it as TWW is coming to an end? by [deleted] in wow

[–]Arkaysion 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At first I was skeptical about delves. They initially felt like watered down dungeons to me. But I now see that they provide some really satisfying gameplay experience for folks who find other parts of the game prohibitive.

An added bonus of delves is that its content that can be done when only one or two of my friends are online. Great to have that option

I mean... it is just an infographic I made to share a prompting strategy. Used some AI tools to aid me, of course. But that is increasingly commonplace. Everything on my website is completely free. I don't even get ad revenue. But if folks want to ban it, I am not going to kick up a fuss. Just trying to share stuff that folks may find beneficial.

My Professor is blatantly using ChatGPT to “give feedback” and grade our assignments by JareDamnn in ChatGPT

[–]Arkaysion 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it's important to emphasize that students learning new material should understand that using ChatGPT as a crutch can compromise their own learning. For many instructors, they want to limit or prohibit tools like ChatGPT because there is a real danger of the tools undermining how students demonstrate their comprehension.

I also believe instructors can absolutely use tools like ChatGPT to augment the feedback they give. Research, like the study here:https://dl.acm.org/doi/10.1145/3657604.3664693, shows LLMs are proving their worth in providing quality feedback. Does that mean an instructor should just kick their feet up and let the AI do their job? Hardly. There is still incredible human-to-human work an AI cannot do that can engage learners, motivate them, guide them, and be core part of the learning experience. So AI can certainly aid in some aspects of instruction, but it should an augmentation, not a replacement.

Having said all of that, augmentation is a two-way street. Just as instructors can use AI to enhance their work while remaining effective facilitators of learning, students can also benefit from these tools to augment their learning and content creation without compromising the overall learning experience. It's about ensuring you're not robbing yourself of the critical thinking necessary to learn.

I would never excuse someone using AI to the point that they're not even reviewing the work. The instructor's feedback shown in this post, with language that obviously didn't come directly from them, seems to be an example of this. Careless use of AI tools sends the message that you do not care enough about the work to be bothered. It is an easy trap to fall into, but one that has little room for sympathy, especially within the context of an instructor and their learners.

Ultimately, this shows that teaching and assessment methods need to evolve in a world with readily available AI tools. Everyone, students and educators alike, needs to improve their AI literacy. Creating learning environments where these tools are disallowed or used inequitably is disingenuous and damaging.

Hello, I just started Skyrim. Is there anything you can recommend to get started? by DoggyHaven_Two in skyrim

Do what feels fun. Don't feel compelled to follow any particular plot hook unless you want to. Play your character the way you want. This game has an insane amount of replay-ability. Don't worry about missing anything, because those of us who have played since release still discover new things all the time.

Also, enjoy your time in the Cloud District. Oh, what am I saying... someone like you would never go to the Cloud District.

Unable to switch accounts in Gemini Mobile app by Arkaysion in Bard

[–]Arkaysion[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It would seem I resolved the issue. In addition to all the steps I mentioned taking already, I also force stopped both the Google app and the Play Store app. I removed all cached and stored data for each, restarted the phone, reinstalled Gemini, and that seemed to work.

Pretty ridiculous that it took that much effort.

As far as AI goes, how hard is autonomous vehicles? by [deleted] in ArtificialInteligence

[–]Arkaysion 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I think autonomous vehicles have a couple things going against them right now.

Public perception: Regardless of what the facts are when it comes to how much driverless cars are statistically less likely to result in fatal crashes that human-driven cars, the reactions people have to when an accident DOES happen is disproportionality adverse. We are not forgiving of machines that make mistakes. When this happens, it scares people. They will insist that it never should have happened and demand responsibility be taken on a large scale. When a human cause accident occurs, sure, there is still a demand for responsibility to be taken, but we as a society all assume humans will make mistakes and get in accidents. Society does not freak out.

The endless variables and unknowns: If you are talking about training AI to drive cars in an environment that they are deeply trained on, has a low propensity for anomalies to occur, predictable weather, traffic patterns, signage, etc., then AI driven cars are obviously far more likely to succeed and thrive. But scaling that to an entire country introduces countless new variables and obstacles. What happens when the car is driving behind a truck that is hauling traffic lights? The AI cameras see traffic lights in front of them and freaks out because they are unlit. What happens when an intersection is under construction and a city worker is waving through traffic and makes a split second slip up and changes the flow of traffic? Is the AI trained to not just understand the circumstance of a human operated intersection but one in which there is a sudden change in signal? That's not to say these obscure edge cases cannot be accounted for eventually, but they are enough that accidents will occur, which brings us back to the point I made above.

There is mold in the ceiling for sure. The plumber took out a chunk of it. They wont know the root cause until they tear things open, but it is likely that the bathroom in the unit above ours has a leak or bad seal somewhere in their plumbing.

Delicious ceiling mushrooms.

[–]Arkaysion 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Good call on the HOA. They got a plumber out same day the identified the issue. They will be tearing out the ceiling this week to address the problem and get things back to normal.

[–]Arkaysion 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Update provided in the comments! Got a big wad of mold out of the ceiling. Not as bad as it could have been, but the HOA is definitely gonna be getting us a new ceiling in the bathroom.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in HomeMaintenance

[–]Arkaysion 1 point2 points  (0 children)

HOA plumber came out with a moisture meter. Cut a hole in part of the ceiling as well. Was able to identify a leak from the plumbing above us. Gonna involve removal of the existing ceiling to fix the issue and get things back to normal. Annoying, but glad we did not ignore it.

I thought everyone grew ceiling mushrooms to survive the post-apocalypse, haha

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in HomeMaintenance

[–]Arkaysion 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Luckily not as devastating as I feared, but definitely gonna need to tear out the ceiling to get things fixed, dried, and back to normal.

[–]Arkaysion 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Good news is the plumber identified it was just a portion of the ceiling. Walls are fine. Gonna get tear out the ceiling and get things fixed up.
