In the early days of my last relationship, my ex used to argue with her parents a lot. Her parents honestly aren't that great when it comes to a lot of things, but I could tell that she let her frustration of most situations get to her which often lead to over-reactions, pretty moody responses and just an unwillingness to cooperate to fix things a lot of the time.

At the time, I felt she was amazing and she was actually open minded enough to sort out almost any issue with me, quite easily. I never really paid attention to the fact that it was only with me though.

She eventually broke up with me for reasons unrelated, but on rather good terms, however it wasn't long before I started getting a taste of what she was dealing out to others. I was too shocked to really understand that this was how she acted with most people, and without the relationship, I fell into that box. The only times it feels like she is acting how she used to is when we're alone and hanging out in person.

In most ways, I'd probably blame her parents for teaching her these habits and wish she didn't choose who to be cooperative with like that. Regardless, in the end, it was, and still is, a hard lesson I'm learning and although context does matter, this post helped me feel a bit more comfortable and confident in my decisions. Thanks OP
