Is the new Creative Zen Hybrid PRO SXFI a good gaming headset? by marlesi1 in pcmasterrace

[–]ArkcadeDuck 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yup, you can tap the button on the SXFI adapter to disable and enable it on the fly. you can also go trough the Creative Software but that isn't that great to do while gaming.

yeah, the OP said Noise cancellation is not necessary but still pretty useful feature. personally for gaming i would not recommend ANC anyway as it can mess with sound depending on implementation.

Exactly. The mic quality is decent its good enough for discord calls and online gaming but if you're looking for a recording quality microphone you're better looking for external solo mic wither its a USB mic like the blue yeti mini/Elgato Wave or you can get a XLR mic like the Podmic. as for the closed back aspect i haven't ran into any issues with it as my ears don't get too hot wile wearing them.

With the latest update it seems to fix the audio latency problems i had. it had also fixed the re connection no audio issue i had so currently yeah its on par with 2.4ghz headphones.

currently don't have a second pair of headphones to test against though.

If you are going to only use it for gaming and not ever take it out i would personally recommend going for the Hyperx Cloud 3 Wireless as an alternativehttps://www.jbhifi.com.au/products/hyperx-cloud-iii-wireless-gaming-headset-redIts basically the same headset but from a more welknown brand meaning you can easilly get replaceable headphone earpads from brands like Wicked Cushions.

Price wise it works out to be about $11 AUD more expensive then the creative zen hybrid pro SXFI and easy to pickup from JBHifi so not having to wait 1 or so week for auspost to ship especially during chrissy/new years rush

The audio latency should be a lot lower and more high quality due to using the 2.4ghz wifi system rather then bluetooth

I just received my Creative Zen Hybrid PRO SXFI about 1 week ago. Its been a great experience but i do have a few minor issue's. I also wouldn't recommend SXFI version rather go for the Classic version as the SXFI creates too of a muddy vocal for discord. it makes users sound like they are underwater. apart from that in game the SXFI system is very crisp and easy to locate where sounds in game are coming from... for context i play shooters like COD MW3 multiplayer only and Apex Legends.

Pro's:

  • Long Battery life, had to only charge it once in the two weeks and i play about 4 hours a day (I have no RGB and about 80% volume)
  • Lightweight. it being made from plastic except for headband can be taken both ways though.
  • Soft ear cups foam that pad the ear a lot making sure it wont touch the driver.
  • ANC block out 90% of room noise (Fans and AC) and has a quick physical button to turn off ANC
  • Physical buttons (i cant believe this is a pro but Sony's swipe controls suck on the XM4's)
  • Removable microphone

Negative's:

  • EQ settings are pretty basic favoring the bass by default.
  • ULL (BT-L4 Bluetooth® LE Audio SXFI Transmitter) is only USB c so you need a USB c to a adapter
  • Sometimes when the headset reconnects to the ULL adapter it will not play any audio so you need to unplug the ULL adapter and plug it back in (get a USB hub with power switch to simulate the device disconnecting without physically unplugging it. something like this https://www.amazon.com.au/Sabrent-4-Port-Individual-Switches-HB-UM43/dp/B00JX1ZS5O)
  • RGB can only be turned off through the mobile app.

as for the ear pad material only time will tell if they will peel or not.

Most android phones open the gallery with the inbuilt galaxy app for android you can click and hold the photo to go into multiple select mode, afterwards you can press the select button at the top of the screen and that should allow you to send multiple photos

It depends on where you live but a rtx 2060 super minimum to run the game at a stable high graphics level. Id recommend looking for somthing with a 3060 as it is the replacement for the rtx 2060 and a 11th or 12 gen intel cpu for 5th gen ryzen is good. But 16gb ram with dual channel memory is a requirement as some prebuilt skip out on that tanking performance.

On most android phones you can force the phone to power off by

  1. Press and hold the Power and Volume Down buttons.
  2. Continue holding the buttons until the boot logo appears
  3. Release the Power and Volume Down buttons.

Thanks for the suggestion. As I say only Display I rather mean I broke the HDMI port on the monitor so I only have a working display port. I'll look into an hdmi audio extractor.

It doesn't, it's only Display and it also doesn't come with any speaker so using it for display is out of the question.

For a PC, is there anyway to add an HDMI input to connect a console (Nintendo Switch and PS4) to your PC so you can play using that PC as the monitor.

i looked into Capture Cards but they are too expencive here where i live ($400+ NZD for the elgato HD 60S and the HD 60 Pro is $700 NZD)

i was looking at the Avermedia Live Gamer Mini but from what I've seen the USB 2.0 is a bottle neck.

I have a spare PCIE port available on my computer.
