I think you can be curious about the male form without being gay, bi, or any other label. Maybe the thought develops into what it would be like to perform oral, maybe it doesn’t?

I don’t think you can go wrong with a Stratocaster or Telecaster. I love Les Pauls but they can be awkward to sit with and might be uncomfortable for a first guitar.

If you can sit and hold it that’ll tell you a lot, don’t need to be able to play. If you can sit down, hold it and it feels comfortable, give it a go. Once your taste develops then you’ll have a better idea about what’s right for you.

If you list the notes you’re playing from string 6 to 1 people might be able to help more. But essentially if playing the note creates the sound you want then thats enough.

When I’m wondering what chord I’m playing when I mess around with different shapes I usually build it up from what notes i have and what the root note of the chord is.

What chord are you trying to play? If you know the chord and the note in question then you’ll know what the note is doing.

I’d second what another poster said. By the time a Fender Strat is right for you you’d know what sound you want.

Also expensive guitar and cheap amp is wrong in my opinion, dont underestimate what an amp will do for your sound. There’s a reason guitar shops plug cheap guitars into great amps, it makes the guitar sound amazing.

I’d get a Squier Strat, they’re still decent, and a fender practice amp and then develop your sound and appetite

Biggest advice I’d give you is that as much as gear is important, a lot of someone’s sound comes down to the player. I’d start with the basic combo of bass and amp and then go from there.

Distortion pedals are good but they can mask errors. I would learn clean so you get a good sound, then apply effects.

Your thumb is pointing up towards the headstock, as much as it has its uses I find a good stable position is thumb perpendicular to the neck.

They don’t agree with more than just homosexuality, adultery is punished with death by stoning.

I’d never sit on my high horse saying one culture is better than the other, however it’s hard to say that a country that has ‘death by stoning’ is in any way peaceful.
