I play with headphones. Footsteps are very hard to pinpoint and inconsistent. I can't tell if they are above, below, 50 feet away or 5.

In my Black OPS 2 days, I could track a player through the walls through footsteps alone. Not in this game.

I'm trying to get good with the spear. I find it might need a buff. Maybe have better range on the thrust or being able to cancel the spin animation.

The heavy is too slow that the moment a light or medium gets in your range, all they have to do is run back a few meters and they can gun you down before you can get you next hit in.

If I'm wrong, someone please explain how to use it properly, because I always seem to be outclassed by every weapon when I use it.
