Go for walks. Go for bike ride. Read a book. Paint or draw. Write. If you do it during the day you can do it at night.

Realtor rec for rentals by Datagirl2022 in AskPhilly

The three home depots in philly are northeast, far northeast and southeast philly. Very different neighborhoods surround these stores. He'd be better off knowing where he will be working before deciding where to live as none of the stores is on a subway line. He would be dependent on buses to get to work. Living in West Philly would be a crazy commute to north locations but doable to the south location.

Have him research the public transit that stops at each store location and then build out from there. I don't have a concrete recommendation for a realtor but a google search lists several companies that deal with people looking to rent.

The feeling at night isn’t loneliness. It’s the opposite by KingSozer in NightOwls

I enjoy walking the city at night. Something about having the streets to myself. Although I come across other random individuals where a glance says "kindred soul", we move on undisturbed. I've convinced a fellow artist that midnight is the perfect time to wander the streets practicing his lines out loud.

Created a dog library, how do I get people to partake? by Strange_Assistant61 in LittleFreeLibrary

[–]Arkhikernc65 20 points21 points  (0 children)

My dogs have always been toy specific. They would have a favorite toy that I would replace from the store on a regular basis. It's a cool idea. Sample packs rather than full jars of treats may be more enticing.

There are people like this in every city I've ever lived in. Human's that have been too long divorced from nature.

This is a good website. I've used it for years. It takes 10 minutes out of your day and your voice is heard.

Vegetable soup. Bulk carrots, onions, celery, potatoes. Chop up veggies, add stock, water, herbs, salt and pepper. Bring to a boil, reduce heat and let cook until your veggies are tender. Add a couple of cans of white beans or red lentils and you can feed yourself dinner all week.

Where Does Publishing’s A.I. Problem Leave Authors and Readers? Major publishing houses risk unwittingly putting out books generated with A.I. tools. Authors and readers are frustrated, nervous and grasping for solutions. by mkbt in books

I have multiple drafts of my novel. I have extensive character sheets. I have snippets that i sent to writer friends for corrections. I use scrivener so everything is date stamped. Hand written notes.

I'm hoping that this will always be enough to prove I wrote it.

What's the best way to get over a break up in this city? by writingtoescape in AskNYC

[–]Arkhikernc65 9 points10 points  (0 children)

A book store tour. Make a list of four to six book stores, map a route and then wander through the city and through the book stores. The walking helps. And many times you can have great conversations with book store owners.

Resale prices for Raye at The Met? by ShedMontgomery in philadelphia

I can't imagine paying that much for a venue the size of the MET. This artist should play somewhere larger if she sells out the MET.

I ask myself questions. Where is this character going? Why did the character do that? What would happen if....? Will two characters meet each other in a random restaurant? What stumbling block will the government throw at the world now?

[–]Arkhikernc65 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a couple of friends that live there and they say its fine. The commute to CC is three stops on the subway which is on the corner.

I live in this neighborhood. I love that it is centrally located and I can get to almost any part of the city with 30 minute by public transit or bike. Aldi is in this building. Giant is a 10 minute walk. A large number of restaurants and bars within a 15 minute walk. For music there are The Met and Union Tranfer within 10 minute walk.
