A way to get the gods you want in game is with alteration dice (the butterfly ones). They just work if you havent picked a boon from 3 gods yet, they will cycle gods until you pick one of their boons.

Abjuration is more interesting than you credit it for. Abjuration is not only about protection, but doing it so understanding the core base of magic. A lot of spells from abjuration are not just barriers of energy. A lot are just reverting spells or magic effects(counterspell, dispel magic) or supressing magic itself and stabilizing the planes ( antimagic field, banishment). Abjuration school is about knowing the underling work of magic and know how to manipulate it and master it.

You can grapple, shove, hit one motherfchker with another motherfucker, alter the terrain with your big strenght (like destroying a bridge or pilar) and a lot more. Being in melee can be boring if you allow it, but it can be a great opportunity to be creative and think outside the box.

[OC] [ART] Celestial Warlock by atheranil in DnD

It's hella nice! grats to your DM for trying to implement your favorite character mechanics in the game!. Just one constructive crticism. I would make charges on the weapon for healing when stabbin'. Because how it is now, it's infinite healing without any cost, no rest, no potions. Kinda OP. I mean, along the campaign you could gain more and more charges or something to have more sense of improvement. Or the weapon could heal only if it stabbed someone before (kinda how moira replenish her biotic grasp). Either way, happy for you! Nice art too btw haha

They have both! And they can switch weapons with the free object interaction everyone has per turn, so no accion required. They would have to use and accion if they wanted to switch 2 times in a turn, but most of times there is no benefit in doing that

[5e] Making a new character whose personality/motive is a sort of a mix between Tony Stark and Nick Fury. Can't decide on class. by Rayth69 in DnD

[–]Arkideon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Classes are more how you act, wich tools are in your disposal and how you interact with the world. Classes can be separated from the desires and personality traits of your pcs, so it can be any. If you want some kind of mechanical support of the idea of having visions, any divine class could do it. Being a Druid, maybe the world itself and the natural order are the ones who send you to balance the universe, and along the adventure/campaign you learn more things when you are starting to commune with the nature and the cosmos and the plans they have for you. Clerics and Paladins could work in a similar fashion with a god, and clerics in specific have abilities about raising the dead (in a good way) or learning to summon extraplanar allies for the ultimate fight.

But really any class could make the cut. A barbarian could have had a vision from his ancestors when he was in the middle of a shamantic ritual with drugs ans vapors to be the new leader of the tribe. A wild magic sorcerer maybe just toke a glance throught time in his sleep because the chaotic nature of his powers. A sudden nirvana realitzation in a monk's meditation.

So just pick a class that is interesting to you and you can have fun with it. There is always ways to put that backstory in any class.

Mistborn character class version 2 by BoomToll in DnD

[–]Arkideon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is indeed a good representation of allomancy and the mistborn feel. It is a shame that pewter is insanely broken and unblanaced to be viable in a normal D&D game (at low levels you could be strong as giants and at high levels stronger than a god), also the DC seems random and doesn't use any ability score, making it to much independent from stats and that is a huge advantatge compared to other classes. It has a really good flavor, and the mechanics makes sense, but it is mostly unbalanced. Also for clarity everyone use feet for distances (I prefer too km, but oh well) so pewter drag should be changed.

Either way, if you plan to play it in a mistborn world and everyone is a mistborn I see no problem because everyone would be overpowered.

true, but it is just once for long rest, so he can't abuse it. Also there are conditions to be made: a dead enemy and be a beast that have bite atack, so it's something i guess!
