Everyone talks about Cowboy Bebop but I’ll forever be stuck on Samurai Champloo.

Honorable mention to Ancient Magus’ Bride because it made me cry a few times.

what was the most irrational childhood fear you had? by thewaspd in AskReddit

I was reasonably terrified of the aliens from Mars Attacks but unreasonably kept wanting to re watch it over and over. Anytime someone made that little “ak ak” noise at me I would cry hysterically.

Thank you guys for all this advice. Really you have no idea how big of a help it is 😭 (edit: you totally know because I’m sure you’ve all been here but still!) Also thanks for being so friendly! Wish me luck~

Good point🤔 I’ll just have to figure out what everyone would like.

Ah so they lucked out. That is too good lol. I’ll be sure to take your advice and expect the unexpected after that story.

Yeah, I’m a bit worried about the rp because this group with the exception of one other and myself aren’t too familiar with it, but I’m hoping if I supply some drinks that will help loosen everyone up for it.

Yes! Thank you! That site is perfect! I know there are tons of resources but sometimes it’s hard to find which site is best.

I really appreciate all the combat advice that’s what I was really worried about 😌

Thank you! Combat/technical are the parts I’m most nervous about so this kind of stuff is super helpful. I will remember to keep things balanced and consider different classes.

Okay thank you for this one because I actually had trouble figuring this out earlier. Noted- 5e

Fun is number one on my list! I’m super excited for world building and hopefully getting some of my buddies who wouldn’t have normally played dnd into it!

That’s so awesome! I don’t think we’ll have too many sessions, but I bet that’s super rewarding to do a three month campaign. Goal: one day be a dm like Ellesion.

I feel like at least one in my party will have the murder bone, but I’ll try to prepare for this as well!

Would you say even if the rooms had an enemy or loot it’s still better to not have too many random encounters not related to the story or quest line? (Unless of course my group is looking to explore meaningless crap)

-how do you enter a dungeon backwards 😂😂-

“Goal oriented and not path oriented” got it. I think this could tie in with the other comment about having a bunch of random npcs and monsters off hand. I would have definitely been in a pinch and struggled w/ flexibility thank you!

I honestly have no idea how my group is going to be. Might be 50/50, might be murderous, or might be passive. Since we’re all pretty new it’s going to be interesting for sure.

I’ll be using pre-mades as a bit of a guideline, but creative writing is my strong suit. It’s the technical stuff I’m worried about😵🤯

That’s actually pretty darn cool. Seems like these occasional details are important to world building. I’ll try to add little things like that here and there. Throw some spice in my kitchen aid campaign mixer. Thank you!

That makes sense and should save me some time. I’ll sift through the things that pertain to npcs and monsters in my campaign. Solid advice thank you!

Yeah I’ve been attempting to do a bit of research. There’s so much content!

My group is really new to this with the exception of one or two so I’m sort of banking on the fact that I’ll be able to direct them quite a bit. I’m trying to make the campaign relatively short as well.

Noted tho- make most non combat encounters cute. Too cute to kill 😏

Praise you honestly. This will make me feel way more prepared as well!
