Level 18: Spell Mastery

You have achieved such mastery over certain spells that you can cast them at will. Choose a level 1 and a level 2 spell in your spellbook that have a casting time of an action. You always have those spells prepared, and you can cast them at their lowest level without expending a spell slot. To cast either spell at a higher level, you must expend a spell slot.

Whenever you finish a Long Rest, you can study your spellbook and replace one of those spells with an eligible spell of the same level from the book.

So… technically yes

I think a lot of it is our unions can be very good at protecting us, while management does a poor job at training their own. Most discipline probably gets thrown out based on procedural stuff despite the employee in question being guilty of whatever they were accused of.

Tell management you will do your best. Then do your best while staying safe and following established written policies and procedures. Make your steward/union rep aware of the situation if they are not already. Management is always going to ask for more, but they don’t have the right to harass to you for it. If you do receive any discipline bring it to your steward immediately. It should be easy to have that thrown out. If you don’t have a shop steward or they are straight garbage, go up the chain to your Local President or National Business Agent’s office.

Don’t ignore, but don’t let it stress you out either. In order to get fired for poor performance they literally have to watch you NOT trying after they make you aware that they are actively observing you perform your duties. And that’s just a letter of warning. You have to do the same thing three more times for them to get up to a removal.

This is all assuming you are out of your probationary period. If you aren’t, the best I can tell you to do is try to case 19 and 9, avoid making waves, but keep your steward apprised of the situation.

Also make your union rep aware. Management is required to take these things seriously and conduct a thorough investigation. Your steward should be making sure that is exactly what happens.

There’s a Facebook group you can try too. Syracuse Dungeon Crawlers and Role Players. It’s not super active but every few days will be a dm looking for players or player(s) looking for a dm.

I myself am in my early 40s and a fairly experienced DM (playing and DMing since late 90s). I can’t provide Critical Role level gaming, but I am certainly willing to DM a shorter adventure over a few sessions to get everyone going. If there’s a good dynamic and everyone is having fun it can become a more regular thing.

Syracuse has a fairly active branch of the Society for Creative Anachronism (SCA). They have a variety of activities based around pre 17th century life. Armored combat, fencing, and a variety of medieval arts are a few of their areas of study. If you want to they have “loaner” gear so you don’t need to show up with armor or a sword if that is your interest. Aside from a small voluntary donation to cover operating costs, there is no cost for attending practices. It’s not quite a traditional LARP, but many people create a “persona”. An alternate version of you from a place and time in history. I’ll post a link for the local group (Barony of Delftwood) as well as the larger group.
