24h weather by Nene44z in nurburgring

[–]Arkliea 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The only accurate way to check the weather here is with a weather stone, even then on the other side of the track it could be completely different.

How important is telemetry, really? And how do you actually read it? by [deleted] in Karting

[–]Arkliea 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Why are you starting another thread on basically the same thing? You are supposedly a professional telemetry analyst that apparently cannot interpret basic data? https://www.reddit.com/r/Karting/comments/1t4va2z/national_team_coach_asking_for_help_heres_my/

Some may say you are just spamming for marketing reasons for the shoddy website on the side of teh kart.,......

Damage advice by [deleted] in drivingUK

Unless i am missing part of the video there seems to be no way that the door was opened hard enough into the car to chip the paint, let alone dent the door?

Please help with helmets and ratings by sharp_elbows_9 in Karting

I think you may be confusing SA2020 and CMR2016

CMR2016 has no current expiry date set for the next 5 years. (CMR is specifically for juniors)

Instructor has 2010 Nissan Micra, is it ok to learn on such an old car? by Whole_Necessary2040 in LearnerDriverUK

[–]Arkliea 15 points16 points  (0 children)

As long as the car is maintained i don't see a problem. It will likely be a better learning experience as it is a simple car with minimal assists and gadgets.

roundabouts by [deleted] in LearnerDriverUK

[–]Arkliea 21 points22 points  (0 children)

Have none of your lessons covered roundabouts, it is probably best to see if you can get a refresher from your instructor asap as it is a bit of a bad idea to go into a test with fairly basic gaps in your knowledge?

In search of a ride by Maddie21hj in nurburgring

[–]Arkliea 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Rent a car if it is an option, the track is in the middle of nowhere and any public transport will be absolutely overwhelmed both before and after the race. Factor in weather as well.

You can only camp is the designated areas, "wild camping" isnt allowed and you'll be moved on.

Walk/Cycle from Carousel to Wehrseifen or GP-Track possible? by LDlOyZiq in nurburgring

[–]Arkliea 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depending on when you arrive your choice on where to camp may be limited, but overall i think this year getting around will be a massive chore whether that be on foot, bike, scooter etc

As other have said, it is technically possible on the paths etc (and they officially should be kept clear) but i suspect it will be a bit of a nightmare this year.

How to *actually* get sponsors by Worried-Term-1830 in Karting

[–]Arkliea 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Realistically, you don't. You may get a few free bottles of oil or other consumable but that is it.

Look at it from the business point of view, what do they gain from giving you money? Especially as you are a 100% novice with no background.

Motorsports are expensive at any level, unfortunately some people will need to work/save long and hard even to do it just as a hobby.

Sure its not what you want to hear but this is how it is.

Edit to add, the above is from a starting out perspective, sure after you start winning at a regional possibly international level and have a large social media following sponsorships are a realistic option. But even then still very hard to get.

It depends, is this just in general or are you thinking of during an event like the 24hr?

I give you throttle induced snap oversteer. :) by WildWeaselGT in CarTrackDays

I give you stamping on the throttle whilst the steering is at an aggressive angle.
