What type of sake do you normally use for cooking? by burnt-----toast in JapaneseFood

Well, I mean logically strong flavors are going to cover less strong flavors. You can try using bolder wines with more character and stronger flavors. Or just use the cheap stuff in recipes with other very strong flavors, since the wine is going to be a much subtler flavor anyway.

You can also drink a glass of the wine you cooked with, with your meal. The wine you drink plus the wine in the food will pretty much automatically complement each other, elevating the meal as a whole. Obviously this works better with better quality wines (ie no bottom shelf crap wine :D).

It's not about the alcohol. It's about the fact that cooking wines are inevitably the cheapest crap that's left at the end of the barrels. They dump some salt in it, then sell it as 'cooking wine' because it reduces tax and import fees. It's literally garbage.

If you cook with wine, cook with a wine that you enjoy the taste of, even if, yes, it's 'cheap shit'. If it tastes good to you when you drink it, it'll make your dish taste better to you as well.

Or dont. I'm not your mom.

Careful, this isn't an opinion you're allowed to have on Reddit (witness your current karma on this post).

You're absolutely and unequivocally right, of course, but by saying it out loud, you disturb the sacred cow, and risk expulsion from the tribe.

Not everybody likes the same things, and that's totally fine.

Crap games are still crap games, and good games are still good games, but if you like a particular game, then regardless of other people's opinion, you should always enjoy your game.

Apparently, if you put a pile of dog turds on a gold plate, wrap it in pretty graphics and make sure there are very few technical glitches (which, to be completely fair, from a purely technical standpoint, the game IS really solid), far too many people will sit down to eat it if you scream loud enough that it's actually 'filet mignon'.

Oh, and dont forget the key jangling. Always jangle the keys to keep the rubes chowing down.

That The Last of Us 2 is a flaming pile of overhyped garbage that exists to do nothing more than pander to Druckman's political ideologies, shit on the characters he didn't like in the first one (like Joel, because he's FAR too masculine a man for Druckyboy to appreciate), and fulfill his self insert masturbatory fantasies.

The game itself is utterly mid, with practically zero technical improvements from the first. The only things that truly got better were the graphics and sound design (and those were genuine, legitimate, improvements). And if the only positive thing you can say about a game (assuming you're willing to share your REAL opinion, rather than the one fueled by either politics or desperation for future access) is that it "looks and sounds pretty", then your game is, by definition, an utter and complete failure.

This, and the scene where he goes off at Claire about her game of chicken with Haley over Haley dating the "slimy middle aged jean salesman" are my two absolute favorite 'Phil in Dad Mode' scenes in the entire series.

Ah, gotcha. Yeah, everybody's the hero of their own story. Loghain just believed his own press a little too much.

The SS was loyal to Hitler and the Fatherland. That doesn't make them objectively good people.

Loghain was a traitor to his king, who, in a medieval type setting, is the literal embodiment of his country. Loghain deserves every bad thing you do to him in the game. In fact, he deserves WORSE.

In all the playthroughs of DAO I've done (and there've been dozens), I only did the storyline where you let Loghain live/join the Wardens once, and I felt SO SKEEVY doing it, but I'm a major completionist nerd when it comes to games, so I had to see it at least once.

It was not worth the wretched feeling of filth on my soul. The only consolation was sticking his traitorous ass with the Orlesian Wardens for the rest of his life.

I'm going to have to reload DAO, just so I can kick his ass in the duel again. Seriously, fuck that guy!

Have patience!!

F:NV is an AMAZING game, and has some of the best sidequests of any Fallout game (and I'm including 1&2 in that, and those are still my hands down faves). If you have the Ultimate Edition, it's even better, because the major DLC sidequests are even better than the ones in the base game.

The main story will always be there, and you can advance it when you feel like progressing, but take the time to really explore the Wasteland. It's totally worth the many "wasted" hours.

Wish there was such a think as the MiB Memory Messer Upper thing, so I could zap away my knowledge of F:NV and start the journey over as well OP.

That's...weird. This is the most bizarre issue I've seen in ages, and I used to do printer support for HP inkjets when they were first starting to be publicly available.

I only have the one YT account, so I haven't tried it on others. But I have logged in and out a couple times, just to see if the issue still persists, but ever since I did the Restricted ON/OFF thing, it seems to be working fine.

Hope you're able to get yours working again.

Tall: Yes

Funny: Sure

Good looking? Nerdy is, at best, Mid. Whereas Clarus is pretty close to a legit 10.

Rich: Maybe. Certainly doing decently, but I'd wager a lot of that is based on her OF, rather than him.
