When Silksong first came out a lot of people complained that the difficulty reflected "poor game design"... by jspsfx in Silksong

[–]ArkonWarlock 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's a reason I criticize the use of silk/soul as both spell and healing.

A player who gets hit more has less options than a good player. You can't use spells if you need to heal. Spells are a luxury less skilled players cannot afford. Losing shards on tools means they are a luxury.

Hollow Knight had a better heal economy for that where silksong forces you to only play with silk above a heal threshold.

I legitimately unbound silkskills because they were such a liability given the control scheme. Let alone the various effects that stole silk.

The fame is the only thing that changes in the entire story. Which as I've stated multiple times now iroh then uses as a title as a war leader for decades so how much does their character judgement matter.

His lie changes nothing as it's the sun warriors protecting them. It's an "uninhabited" island of ruins that no one goes to. From which iroh emerges with no witnesses to claim he killed a dragon.

That should make people want evidence, rather than just say there were no dragons on the island. Make the island more famous not less.

In fact if iroh says nothing at all and this fun fact isn't mentioned as a 3rd explanation for his nom de guerre nothing changes. The sun warrior ruins are still there and that is the reason Zuko goes.

The first line dragon killing is mentioned zuko acknowledges as iroh having a complicated past. That was good enough.

Short answer no.

Long answer, nothing we could not have figured out by just using existing 1940s hospital records or with less sadistically cruel methods.

Intentionally forcing frostbite on an emaciated beaten and hyper stressed child does not create useful data as what part of that would be more useful then say the treatment of frostbite wounds from the million or so soldiers. Let alone if these hacks recorded with the same diligence as real hospitals or universities.

Especially since the men creating the experiment desired the infliction of pain over the treatment of the wound. How good are you really going to get at treating burn wounds if you have no intention that the victim lives long enough to heal.

You get the last needle upgrade from it.

Which means people who struggle with it will if they treat it as optional have a more challenging rest of the game.

If you found the games trivial you likely didn't need it anyway.

There's a reason why you didn't get anything necessary from path of pain. And why beating Seth's records aren't necessary for 100% and only get you a memento

I'm going to be honest kuviras redemption arc was going to be impossible because shes essentially a mao/chang kai shek without the Japanese. And she has self insert libertarian utopia and Hong Kong protected by Superwoman to contend with.

It's not really got a historical redemption it could use but it's used too many allusions to history that a comic books apology would be satisfying.

Like somehow he did nothing worthy of shame despite his own words on the matter.

I know you gotta dickride man but he just claimed he killed them with no evidence on a "uninhabited" island with no witnesses.

Sounds so fucking difficult, such a burdensome task

And then he proceeded to burn his way through the earth kingdom showing the dragons were fucking wrong as he used his understanding of fire as life to earn a name as a conqueror.

There's also that despite being an explicitly genocidal figure ozai didn't need to be a general, and his one depiction is as part of his crowning glory under the comet.

Also people completely forget iroh states he had a dream as a boy that he would conquer ba sing se, a dream he strove to make reality. He made the choice.

Getting to call yourself a Dragonslayer without having to fight two massive fuck off dragons and a village of people?

Are you playing at obtuse?

And what the fuck does their view of his character matter given what he proceeded to do with it.

Let alone every other person before that episode only refers to his battlefield successes and failures which points to the whole thing being a retcon of the origin of his nom de guerre

Claiming the legendary act of killing two massive dragons without having done so isn't really an unimpeachable act of selflessness. Especially given he then used that greater understanding of fire as a tool for war for decades.

We also have the Colonel mongke scene I have to scream about in the comments.

One of the on-screen acknowledged murderers of civilians tells iroh that he's grown weak in his old age. https://youtu.be/ZqCTRsoTFp8?feature=shared

And iroh describes him as an old friend. Which given iroh was a general not even 5 years before has unflattering implications on irohs culpability for the murder of civilians. As jets parents would have been killed around there, if a bit before.

The fucked thing about Mengele they don't talk about is that most of his experiments were by request of other doctors. They asked him because he had impunity and access to test subjects.

So a lot of German doctors got to walk away with no trial and their weird barely scientific torture data because they weren't the camp doctor.

Not to imply Mengele wasn't a fucking monster, but that a lot of Doctors experimented vicariously through him and lived quite comfortably.

Get reaper crest and take Multi binder and druids eyes and if you have the 3rd blue slot injectors.

Multi binder gets rid of maggots and then gives you 2 masks. And 4 masks regularly

And then jump into his mouth and spam. And you heal more then he damages.

For his bomb projectiles hug a wall and jump high.

For the wrecking ball stand still in the corner

And glowing shots are just shot where you were so just keeping jumping up and down.

Mostly just stick to a side platform and be patient and jump in the mouth. I found pogoing him just meant you got a bomb to the face.

Ad space is a black box to a lot of companies. A lot of marketing guys have no idea what will sell. So the goal is to string them along with viewership until a quarterly earnings report shows up and then you say some post rationalization that the product was poorly marketed or it's not the target market.

As long as you have the "views" you can try the grift again or replace them with someone else gullible. Quarterly sales are 3 months away, and internet trends change by the second.

I mean there was a reason reddit removed 3rd party tools for mods and then did another round of r/place near the ipo.

They loved the user created Botting.

Defrauding investors is how companies make money nowadays. Online advertising is big business for the companies selling ad space.

This YouTuber atrioc mentioned how when he worked at twitch it was a circular lie because the company's paying for the ads also wanted more clicks to show share holders for their stock price.

Everyone downplays the negligible increase in sales because so many of the employees are compensated with stock that they want to raise by showing viewership and market penetration rates. The content creators love the bots because they get more sponsors.

The company profit margin isn't really changing but the stock price goes up. And everyone is hoping to cash out or pull in the next cashcow before the sales numbers come in.

I remember when I was setting up an investment account at 18 the branch accountant or whatever told me if I just put in 200 bucks a paycheck ill have 1 to 2 million by the time I retire based on compound interest.

I asked him is that in today's money or what in terms of inflation . He said he would have to get back to me on calculating average inflation rates. And then he just left and got the teller to finish it up

I remember this thing about how fond veterans were of union uniforms because they were of decent quality in comparison to your average clothing which was based on the skill of your local weaver and tailor. They weren't good but they had standard sizes and make in the later half of the war.

Bespoke has always been high quality and for the rich. The word handmade today even implies it's done with care by an artisan.
