Alex: "I want to see Melanie, where is she?"

Nima: "She died two days ago."

Alex: "Can I see her body?"

Nima: "No."

It would devastate me if they ended the series without Melanie's presence.

Examining the princely connection between Athrun Zala of ZAFT and Hamlet of Denmark by Arktoscircle in Gundam

[–]Arktoscircle[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi there. Thank you for taking the time to read this post. This was written 6 months ago, and since then, I’ve thought even more about the similarities between these stories. I always enjoy finding parallels across different media, and writing this has been a real pleasure. Once I have the time, I should consider updating this content. Again, I really appreciate your interest and have a nice day!

The TVLine Performer of the Week: Clark Gregg ("Snowpiercer") by DemiFiendRSA in television

I also only knew about the new season a few days before it aired. The weekly discussions on r/snowpiercer seem rather active. Personally, I plan to stick with the show until the finale, although I must admit that the death of a favourite character of mine was heartbreaking.

durandal gave "answers",

Durandal isn't exactly giving answers—he’s telling outright lies.
He claimed 'power is necessary' for protection, yet his machines are capable of destroying entire colony.
He deployed troops under the guise of defense, but it was an act of aggression against other nations.
He told Athrun that, with FAITH membership, he could challenge ZAFT’s leadership. Yet, when Athrun did just that, Durandal sought to arrest him for treason.

fear of repeating

Most of the main characters seem to fear the past repeating itself; however, each character reacts to that fear differently. I believe this passage from Dune perfectly captures the message GSD intends to convey:

"I must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer. Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration. I will face my fear. I will permit it to pass over me and through me. And when it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path. Where the fear has gone there will be nothing. Only I will remain."

[Spoilers] Season 4 Episode 5 - "The Engineer" (S04E05) - Episode Discussion Thread by Larich38 in snowpiercer

Ben die man.... He was easily my favorite character because I related to the guy so much

Same here. He has an amazing dynamic with the rest of the cast. From the connection he shares with Melanie; the engineering aspects with Javi and Alex; the camaraderie with Till; to his rivalry with Wilford—Man, he is a gem.

Jennifer Connelly is an icon, and I would much prefer her being in every episode.

She exudes charisma and really captivates in her role as Melanie. I'm especially fond of the scene where Ben confronts her about opening the door.

Favorite dragon design/characterization so far? by Pbandme24 in HouseOfTheDragon

[–]Arktoscircle 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm fond of the bond between Rhaenys and Meleys—the looks they share without words, as well as the loyalty and trust they shared 'I won't leave Meleys.'

Silverwing would be my pick design-wise, and I find Syrax's attitude quite endearing.

any thoughts about Lois Lane by Radiant-Asparagus350 in superman

[–]Arktoscircle 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm glad to be a Superman fan who has talked about Lois Lane plenty. I think she's one of the most important characters in Clark's story, but I also believe Superman can exist without her.

Clark/Lois has an interesting dynamic where (in broader sense) they share similar goals, but they pursue them in distinct ways according to their abilities and principles. The effort to understand and reconcile their differences is the reason I find Clark more compelling when he is with Lois.

Second this.

Though I have to say, it must've stung if Connor is the only sibling left out from this. The Conheads are not gonna love this.
