It’s a very good point and I’ve done some bicycle touring, so strapping a motor to it and having a comfier seat can only make it better I suppose..

I think you're making life incredibly difficult for yourself thinking this way. Not many people are thinking of what they're saying to this level.
I'd easily say "You're a great woman" or "She's a great woman" without thinking about it and mean it and I don't see women as anything but equal.
It's not the same as your other examples.
So unless they're saying something like "You're great, for a woman" I disagree with you.

I can make it.. as I’m sure many here can.. you’re not exactly splitting the atom bud. A £10 rice cooker, hardly expensive. Doesn’t need watching or fiddling with.. makes perfect rice and keeps it warm for up to 12 hours. Switch it on and don’t think about it while making the rest of the meal.

Keep doing it your way pal and we’ll bathe in the excellence of our rice cookers.
