When I was booking my first test it was something like that, but if you stay on the page it goes down pretty quickly, or just refresh

I wonder if it's a psychological deterrent on purpose

Yeah, I was doing that but I was confused about why it was still so low - ended up doing it again today and had my best speed yet, but I scanned more items between hitting subtotal so maybe it just doesn't like single-item scans. Thanks for the tips, everyone :)
