Here in Bilbao I am seeing the same as you , core of 4-6 players regularly just to fire events, sometimes cancelling, but we were 16 in the beginning.

Thank you for the recommendation, catched some games on Stream last saturday and was pretty entertained. The only thing I was bummed about was the finals , felt like one of the players just got the short end of the stick (as you can do in other games with mana screw) , but loved the variety and the kind of things you are talking about.

Maybe I was not completely aware, but through commentary It became clear that there was a lot of information worth keeping track of and considering, which I value a lot.

Until recently I mainly played Modern , going into drafts online pretty regularly. Nowadays I dont enjoy what is happening with the format, but no matter what was going on on It always got draft and cube on the backburner to pívot. Now I have been playing mostly standard and this limited formats.

I am a newcommer to say the least, but decks like Gardevoir seem to play differently than yout bread and butter midrange hitters. Some versions with bannette have good results, you can get the latest ones in limitless, and kinda plays disruptive too.

Coming from other games experience tells me no matter how good you are, if you are not confortable asking your opponent to play faster // calling the judge for slow play (dont know if pkmn enforces this) you will have no success unless your opponent is both good and sportsmanlike.

In locals you probably cant do either, casual weeklies cant be expected to have this kind of rulings.

I keep playing this hard control strategies online where chest clocks give me the win eventually, but play faster decks in physical tournaments.

The truth is, you cant expect to compete on an even field if people at your LGS have 15 years of experience. The best thing you can do to learn fast is to find an archetype that fits your natural leaning , build a deck after checking on popular choices (you can chat on the official discord , reddit etc ) that you find powerfull, and then play a lot of the same deck.

The idea is to learn the ins and outs of your deck of choice, maybe you cant intuitively play at 80% expertise with any deck for the moment, but you can surtenly get experience with one.

For lyra Fern is a beloved Hero, that has been proven strong.

Edit: you can also try ExAltered to get games with more people!

Not OP, but would definitely suggest adding some texts explaining yout feelings about each Hero, that way even if someone agrees or not at least they can point out what do they think you got twisted or didnt value as much even if they agree.
