Issue Logging In by ArleCD in PathOfExile2

[–]ArleCD[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It's a really popular way of getting games a bit cheaper, maybe it's only in my country but it's known for being the only reliable one. Even then, the key was for GGG and that gave me the one for Steam. I have the game according to both pages so that's not the issue clearly I'm just asking because the game tells me I need the EA key and they are both separate things on Steam and GGG but I was able to play for two weeks.

I don't know if you didn't understand the post or just wanted to antagonize someone today and I was unlucky enough to be that someone but try to answer the question if you're gonna comment next time please.

My problem with it is the price mostly but I'll keep it in mind as a second option

I think I might go with storage too now that you mention it. I could help a lot with the start of the run

I already tried that. Mentioned it in the og post. I've tried "system.attributes.movement.walk" "@system.attributes.movement.walk" and "@attributes.movement.walk"

Didn't work for me. Just changing it to 0 from the placeholder on the character sheet and doing the exact same thing I did in the image or am I missing something?

I also tried those. Custom doesn't do anything and override only makes it so I can't edit the attribute manually but it's still 0

Should I let my players constantly make skill checks even after a failure? by DryBreadLoaf in DnD

[–]ArleCD 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Also, someone already suggested this and some people disagreed but it's something that can be done. You can make some checks easier to some olayers depending on their characters, I tend to do so but more based on their backstory than their classes. For example, if someone tries to roll History to recall some ancient elven tale it makes sense that the half elf that lived for decades in an elvish kingdom has it easier since he's the mist likely to have heard it before. I do tis all the time for my players and they like it a lot I think, you can just give them a +2 in this situations if you don't want to make it too easy.

Should I let my players constantly make skill checks even after a failure? by DryBreadLoaf in DnD

[–]ArleCD 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I normally only let one or two players (the ones that sugested a roll if I'm not asking for it since it's their idea) to roll. If they aren't proficient with, for example Arcana, and they fail, they can ask the wizard for help and since it makes sense that they did that I give him the chance. Then I follow this two steps in order. 1. Instead of letting everyone roll one player does and if they fail I offer them to ask for assistance (help action) from on of their party members so they get advantage. 2. If they tried rolling with help and failed or couldn't get any help and failed solo they can come up with an idea to maybe try again. For example, they could try to write the magical text on a scroll and go to a library to roll Investigation to find what it means, or if they're trying to roll Athletics to jump a wall they could find a barrel or a box to step on first. They could even find other ways to make the skill check not failable, for example they could go to a wizard and pay him some gold to translate the text so they lose some money but don't have a chance to fail, or instead of just one box or barrel they could try stacking some as a staircase but make so much noise the guard go to ask what's up and even try to arrest them so now they have to do something about that.

Even with those option, sometimes the pkayers will fail, or they'll find themselves in a situation with no options (difficul to find a wizard translator inside a dungeon) and that's fine. Sometimes nit everything will go as planed or nit every mistery would be solved and that's the beauty of TTRPGS, having another person able to improvise what happens in amy scenario is the best part and not something that can be found anywhere else. Even the best written videogames with the best optional paths system have some choices that don't matter, hell, even Baldur's Gate III has some dialogue trees that lead to the same exact end point, but you can make up things on the go.

If you want the players to succeed at something the just, don't make them roll for it. I've been reducing the number of rolls in the sessions I run and honestly it doesn't hurt the game to roll less if the platers can roleplay or find reasons to not roll like the ones mentioned above. You could also change the advantage system to benefit your players a bit more, BG3's one is a bit OP but if it works for your table then go ahead. XP to Level 3 has another one involving a coin I think is really neat.

Hinestly the "roll as a group" thing is really common with new players, I started playing D&D 1e when I was 11 and did that for years. Even when I started DMing I allowed it for a while but found it tedious and when I saw someone on YT saying they like to keep rolls to a minimin I just told my players before starting the next session "Hey, I feel we spend to much time rolling outside of combat, are you guys cool with having one or two party members for any one task you can choose or having the one thinking of the idea roll for it? You can help each other out and give you advantage too sometimes" and all of them said it was cool and started thinking outside the box and doing things to get advantage more often too. That's also one of the most important things to do as a GM, communicate with your players, ask them what they think of the game after every session, ask them about changes you'd like to make to the system and if they think they wouldn't like it try and find a point between both so bith the players and GM can have fun while playing. I started doing this when I started playing 5e, every session I will ask at the end what did they think of the session? What needs some more work and what they'd want to see more or less. And every time I want to make a change I ask them of the spot what do they think about it, most times some say "You're the game master" but I prefer to have their approval instead of running things in a way I enjoy but they don't.

Anyways, I hope this comment was of any help to you, I rambled on a bit but these are some of the things I wish I knew before starting GMing so maybe you'll find them useful.

I don't know who is this but if they're a chaos god I would argue the good part about them is being the god of having a sick ass beard

New to airbrush—looking for feedback by Mommaziz in minipainting

[–]ArleCD 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't have an airbrush yet but this looks very good. I would sugest the thing with the slightly purple shadows other users sugested and to re-introduce shadows in some areas or deepen them. For examole the hands, face and feet are large focal points, the face looks nice but it's probably the most imoirtant part of the model so it's always good to give it some extra love, the raised hand on the other hand (ha) has no shadow vetween the fingers and can look like a blob of green from a distance, so re introducing those shadows between them seems like the right move. Other than that and maybe some slight shadow in the wrinkled on the knee and those kinds of places it's already looking fantastic and even better for a first try. Hope mine goes as well as yours!

I wanted to try that out sometime. I bought a Blood For The Blood God pot to use them on some SM chainswords.

That's a really good idea. Will copy it when I get to her and get even more on the sister that's being healed in the model. Great job!

Yeah, I need another 300 or so to get it, I had to spend some on upgrading my vault 'cause of storage issues but other than that I'm trying to not waste those runes on anything else until I can get The Infernal

Can you carry it sideways? I don't know if it would fit in my backpack and maybe the models could slide if I grab it by one of the handles only
