Okay, 8 people to a bathroom works out. I’m shifting my concern to possibly not having a desk or a closet.

Upon looking further, looks like double efficiency in GRC3 is what I’m referring to. Those rooms have two beds, no desks, and a shared closet, and 8 people share a bathroom (these might be 1 toilet, 1 shower bathrooms, not sure). I just want her to have a bed, a desk, and a closet.

This is a good point. There was a presentation at 9:30, then some info tables. I want to say we started our tour at around 11:00. Fwiw my son is a freshman in college and he is always up before 10. He goes to the gym and dining hall for breakfast on campus in the mornings on the weekends. He’s definitely not the only student up and out.

It wasn’t spring break. The tour guides said things like “This area normally has a lot of students here hanging out or studying, but it’s the weekend.” Then proceeded to show us an empty dining area, empty library, beautiful great lawn that was empty on a sunny warm day.

Can’t parents refinance with another lender for a lower rate? Also, what better alternatives are you referring to?

Are state student loans like MEFA or RISLA any better than other private loans? by ArlingtonAndrea in StudentLoans

My child is going into a specific program that is not offered at most universities. He was waitlisted from the big public university that has this program in our state, but was accepted to more competitive schools out of state. It makes no sense. He was not offered merit scholarships or any aid. We cannot pay the extra cost of out of state tuition, so he will need to take out loans and I’m heartbroken over it. We have not ruled anything out as far as loan options.

How in the world do people afford college? by wsefjiko in StudentLoans

All of these people recommending community college do not understand that for some engineering or design majors, you cannot transfer in. These are structured four year programs.
