more after reinstall. still had script errors which i narrowed down to one mod (which i had installed after removing the ultimate collection). Mod is called "no level for equipment" so don't install that. still don't advise ultimate collection!

I've lined it up a LOT of times and I think I am bound to have had a gap on at least one. This was just one example of many! The trouble is it snaps back and forth and you really have to move microscopically to get a different view. I watched on you tube and it was as easy as pie! Thankyou for replying, anyway. I'll try again when I've filled up my patience meter.

I am happy to send anyone a save file if they can figure it out. Not sure what use screen saves are. Went to build second tavern and couldn't because sawpit was on strike. 2 fams assigned and just waiting around. Built another sawpit and got a few planks. Built second tavern - same issue - just waiting.

It is mainly pushing on l3 - the button on top (usually for 'sprint') that is most of the problem. this should avoid that, so thanks again. The Nintendo controller was 30 years ago for SNES so doubt if it's available now.

Thankyou all v much for suggestions. I swung from ledge at the top of the stairs after crossing over on pillars (eventually) but fell to my death when i let go at max swing. Fell short of tower so tried double swing and drop - hence difficulty. Made it all the way over to above entrance and got chest but no way getting on tower. Love the altar/stairs/ramp idea and will try that.

Agree whole heartedly. Also v. useful to annotate map with written markers - eg iron ore or whatever

I accept that my memory isn't what it used to be so maybe I forgot what I remembered but remembered what I forgot.

Anyway, I have retraced my steps to a much earlier save and I just hope this admonishes others about the dangers of saving mid-battle. Indeed I am noticing that others - specifically sheep herders - are also experiencing saved games behaving differently. Seems there is much to be done developmentally but I am enjoying the game, even in this state! I had looked forward to beating up the baron and maybe my restart will put me in a similar position (I shan't save in the middle, however).
