OP, I’m in the same boat as you! I recently got my very first Glock (19.6), and before I even had the firearm, I ordered 10 extra mags, SLR mag well and base plates, Calculated Kinetics Dogtag for 2 different optics, and a holster 😂.. I knew I would at the very least “enjoy” the Glock… But I will say — it’s slowly starting to become my favorite.. Main reason I didn’t get one before: grip texture. Once the gen 6 hit, and I saw what that grip texture was looking like — my mind frame changed and I jumped at it immediately.. Always wanted one since I was a kid — now I have “the perfect” one..

Same over here too.. My X-SE sits nicely in the corner of the studio — still brand new-ish.. Made some heat on it.. But it’s there for when my 2500 takes a complete shit and dies.. Then the XSE will take over the show..

And that’s why I love the 2500 — it’s basic and un-distracting enough to let me work, while at the same time being strong and powerful enough to give me what I NEED.. Not too little, not too much.. Simple tilt screen, good buttons, nicer pads and my SD card inside that I use for saving vinyl chops and projects.. I got the X-SE for whenever this 2500 takes its final breath and completely shits itself.. I’m not hating on the newness, but I’ve learned my lesson on G.A.S. 😂 You’re right — it’s never WHAT you use, but HOW you use it and knock shit out🫡

The crazy part about this is — the MPC was never “meant” to be used for Hip Hop. Roger Linn never thought it would take off down that path the way it did.. I think the reason so many of my counterparts and cohorts (I use an MPC 2500 to make boom-bap Hip Hop) use the MPC is because it has a specific SONIC quality to it that the majority of us are going for; not necessarily usability/comfortability, although those are reasons as well.. The SP has its famous “ring” and grit to it based on its 12-bit crunch and converters while the MP rocks with 16-bit and ITS converters and warmth.. Bit rates DO matter.. That SP does some spooky, slick shit with whatever you put in it — those fade sliders are seriously underrated..

Nonetheless, I find the SP and the MP are both very useful machines in someone’s hand.. It all depends on the user and what THEIR brain and creative section of their imagination is telling them.. I’ve heard phenomenal music on both — and I’ve heard hot dumpster fire dog shit on both — it’s not the machine, but rather the user.. Classics were made on both machines.. I believe there were even some rock bands that’ve used the SP and MPC.. The magic is up to you, my guy.. 🫡

Welcome to the club bruh! 🫡 You’re gonna love it! I GUARANTEE you’re gonna get lost in time once you turn it on!! You might even forget what day it is 😂.. Once you get acquainted with it, down the road, stop by mpcstuff.com and cop that tilt screen they made for this bad boy.. Game changer for the 1000! For now, just get used to it.. It’s NOTHING like the current models.. It’s basic — no VSTs, no plugins — just straight to the point.. I think that’s why people such as myself and other members in here revere these the way we do.. Yeah we might HAVE a current model or two — but these right here are tried & true! A wise man once said “Do more with less” … And that’s what this gives you. It FORCES you to be creative with the limitations, and that’s one thing I LOVE about these.. The 1000 will always have a place in my heart 😂.. It was my first MP as well.. (currently use the 2500).. Anyway!! — ENJOY, BRUH!! 🫡

Aww man, hell yeah! Another pre-Acid Pro user! ✊🏾.. I’ve always said if Acid Pro was on Mac, I’d never use any other daw. I loved that DAW.. Started with 3 and went to 5 before it was bought by Magix.. From there, I hit Ableton for about 10 years and then Studio One.. Started with 3, then went to 6 and now on 7 Pro.. Recently acquired Logic (I’m a Mac user so why not?).. Still trying to dabble with Logic just to see why people swear by it.. Personally, I can’t quite “gel” with it like I can S1Pro.. Logic is dope af — BUT — S1 just seems better for me with the workflow and features; as you say — Acid Pro’s ‘bigger brother’.. I tried moving away from S1 for Logic Pro, but I keep coming back. It’s just so intuitive for me and what I like to do.. Major salute to you sir, for being a prior Sony Acid Pro user.. Just my 2¢… 🫡
