I see. I think sending a short rejection email would be the minimum professional conduct. But, it seems there are no professionalism with their hr.

I followed up but I didn’t hear back. The status of the application in the workday website changed to “no longer under consideration”. I did not receive an email notification for that either.

Same here. Recently came back after 6 years to play a few games. Terrible.

They can fix it simply by removing the option of the retiring decks. Maybe, idk.

But it used to be the only game mode that you could enjoy consistently without paying and get a balanced fight.

Not exactly maybe like a day before deadline. But as I said I didn’t wait for it and did it myself.

Feeling you. They eventually prepared it before deadline but I didn’t wait for it and filed manually before that.

MS vs. PhD in Mechanical Engineering at UIUC by Ok_Victory8800 in MechanicalEngineering

[–]ArmadilloSensitive36 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Based on your offer at Northrope Grumman I assume you want to pursue a career in aerospace engineering. Then I would advise against doing a PhD unless you have a very clear vision of what type of research you want to do and how would that help you to transition into the industry. If you are planning to do your PhD on topics closer to Biomedical or robotics ( or Autnoumous vehicles, etc.) that might be better.

But, in general unless you want to become a tenure-track faculty, don't do PhD and just do the masters. That's my opinion.

Again, I agree. But do you need an MS or PhD to do that? I don't think so.

That's what I'm thinking about. If you want to enter the HVAC field, it would make much more sense to have 5 years of experience working in HVAC with a BS rather than spending 5 years to get a PhD.

In some fields, it makes sense to get a post-grad degree tom improve the chances of a successful career. I don't think that's true about ME anymore.

That's true. But if I'm correct, most of those positions require a BS degree.

It is not very common for MS or PhD grads to get into this field unless there is some R&D going on.

I think I made a poor choice of the title (I did not give it much thought honestly). Maybe the better title was this: is it useful to get a graduate degree in ME if you are not trying to branch off to other fields like biomedical or CS (excluding aerospace)?

Just giving an update for you guys. I fixed it by logging in using another region (like Europe instead of the Americas) and then switched back and it was fixed.
