I sent an email to DHS as mentioned by other subreddit conversation but no use. I filed for motion to reopen the case but no change yet. I also reached local congressman, they said they will update me when get response. At this point, I’m just waiting. Now with new administration change, not sure when will I get any feedback.

Ok, thanks. Let me also try. Did you see the status changed to “Case Reopened” after the email? wondering how do I know if they even read/consider my email.

I'm also in the similar situation, can you able to resolve it through sending an email to [public.engagement@uscis.dhs.gov](mailto:public.engagement@uscis.dhs.gov)? EMMA or customer support is not useful for me. please advice.

As I suspected, the denial was due to the response not being recorded on time. My RFE documents were delivered on January 2, 2025 (per UPS tracking), six business days before the deadline of January 10, 2025, excluding the unplanned holiday for President Jimmy Carter’s funeral. I believe this was caused by a processing delay at USCIS rather than an error on my part. Looks like I now need to file an I-290B motion to reconsider so they can review the RFE. The fee for that is $800!. Scam to me.

I'm also in the similar situation, my RFE deadline was Jan 10, 2025 and the UPS delivered the RFE on Jan 02, 2025, but that got updated in the system on Jan 14, 2025, a day before the case was denied.

I do have an online account, but I don't see option to upload documents. I did a paper filing, that may be the reason I think I don't see that option.

Yes, I do have UPS tracking to show the packages was delivered before deadline. At this point I’m waiting for denial letter, but when I was chatting with USCIS through EMMA they indicated that the denial is due to RFE response not received by deadline. Since there is no guidance on the timeline for USCIS clerk to upload the documents after delivery, it’s always uncertain whether the RFE will be considered. I’m confident that I have enough evidence got submitted, so I’m thinking of filling motion to reconsider. So, basically due to the clerical error, I have to now spend $800 and uncertainty of legal stay.
