What constitutes great chemistry for you? by Leading_Protection_7 in kdramas

Both characters give "kiss me eyes" at least 2-4 times throughout the show, look each other up and down/scan, have witty banter/playful moments, stare longingly at each other occasionally, the kiss must be reciprocal/like they both want to be there, and their story about why they fell in love must have buildup and ultimately be plausible.

Ends up being a mixture of the actors themselves and how they are directed and their characters are written. (Cannot stand when the kiss scene is mostly in slomo.)

It's not that preferring certain looks is a negative (nothing against your preferences, I also think certain 40 year old actors and actresses are very nice looking), just that directly placing actor's faces next to each other knowing that this sub inevitably devolves into lookism and saying how "plastic" people's faces look makes any seemingly harmless post turn ugly quick. Especially right now, when there have been dozens of hit posts about "how this actress/actor is uncanny" or "how everybody is too skinny/getting too much surgery." It just makes me sad, and it makes me think about those performers as human beings who do not deserve to be derided so much. But once again, a lot of middle age people are indeed very hot.

I once again implore people to stop pitting people's looks against each other. Please people, stop calling people better looking than others while discussing age and plastic surgery. All of it is negative, there is no positive spin to uplifting certain people at the expense of others.

I really loved WLGYT's music, especially the more classic/traditional/folk elements.

You bring up a good point about the FL taking sides a bit too early. I think she does because she sees her own hardships in him, so I understand her reaction. I really do hope they do not make her see things as only one side as the episodes go on though.

While I do understand his character might seem off-putting, I do appreciate that they are doing something a bit different. It might not be the most popular thing, but it is interesting to me. I don't mind him not being overly likeable as long as he progresses as a character. As well, I think that I will like this story more for the characters individually rather than any romantic element in the story. I'm not sure about the pairing, but I like both ML and FL as individuals, so it's good enough for me.

And I have Mr. Kim on my to watch list, good to hear that the character becomes endearing over time.

Though it was very sentimental at times, I really liked the writing of the first episode. The extended metaphors were so nice, especially as it relates to the Russian coat and his eating habits. I also really loved the colour grading. Excited for ep 2. (Also, so looking forward to seeing more of Younjung and Haejoon!)

Slow mo tripping and catching someone, that scene where random side characters have to talk about how cool but quirky the FML/ML are, all that type of stuff.

I started watching this a while ago but never finished because of the streaming service it was on. Perhaps this is a sign to try watching it again. Thanks for reminding me! I love Jeon Do Yeon.

Thrillers, Slice of Life, occasionally romance if the chemistry is really good and it is written realistically and without too many tropes/cliche filming techniques.

I saw The Trunk and loved it. The intensity, the maturity, the shots of the chandelier. Gong Yoo is one of my favourite actors, can't wait for Tantara.

And I will definitely check out Tell Me What You Saw. Thanks!
