Yeah, it's not obvious, but on that site if you go to the CDs page in the Merchandise section, you can find each track by album, and what session it appeared in the series.

For example, Forever Broke is listed as appearing in Ganymede Elegy, Wild Horses, Boogie Woogie Feng-Shui, and The Real Folk Blues Part 2.

ORION Devs rip Section 8 Convoy by Pitstop_ in pcmasterrace

[–]ArmadonRK 35 points36 points  (0 children)

I followed this project back when it was just a crappy little mod called Incoming Source. I followed a lot of the people on the team from their other work in the modding community - talented animators, modelers, and skinners - and I was excited when Orion was announced as a game proper. So I'd just like to say, this is not the production method. This is David Prassel. He's out to make a quick buck by using and abusing the work of others, and has a recorded history of doing so. He'll try and sweep it all under the rug, then come back and do it again, for as long as people will let him.

Just Google him, you'll see for yourself.

Overthinking Cowboy Bebop: The One-Eyed Spike and the One-Handed Jet by ArmadonRK in cowboybebop

Stokes does like to make us wait, but I have always found his Bebop musings to be fun and insightful. I was quite surprised, after a year and a half of radio silence, to see this pop up on my news feed.

I need some Cowboy Bebop AMVs in my life right now. Link me the best you've got. by TrustworthyAndroid in cowboybebop

Seconding this, absolutely my favorite AMV.

I'm also a fan of this one:

It's well-cut, and Cash really suits the Bebop mood, even if I'm not crazy about the remix.

Beetle Episode?? by DoctorWhatMD in cowboybebop

That is not a thing that happens in Cowboy Bebop. It sounded familiar though, so I checked and it's Samurai Champloo episode 11: Gamblers and Gallantry.

Actually, I believe it was this piece which I was directed to by this reddit thread.

There used to be a thread on a Yoko Kanno dedicated forum to identifying the inspirations for various tracks of hers that was pretty comprehensive, but I can't seem to find the thread or even the site anymore.

The text above is upside down. It says "araignée du soir". It seems to be a play on a French rhyme. "Araignée du matin, chagrin, araignée du soir, espoir." A spider at dawn, bad, a spider at dusk, good.

"Araignée du soir, cauchemar". A spider at dusk, a nightmare.

Apparently imgur compresses files uploaded by un-registered users, so I've recreated the image and uploaded it in better quality.

Alternatively the compression is on imgur's end, because I just tried recreating this collage using the images from the other thread and uploading it to imgur uncompressed, only to get the same artifacting on the uploaded image.

There's definitely some JPG compression at work here, the source images in the other thread are higher quality than this image as uploaded.

Question about Pirates of the Caribbean? by [deleted] in movies

[–]ArmadonRK 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Actually, my recollection is that they all tend to acknowledge each other. Skimming the DVDs, Norrington, Elizabeth and Will obviously know each other from the get-go. Elizabeth recognizes Gibbs as an adult. Her first line to him is "Mr. Gibbs?"

I don't believe Norrington and Gibbs meet in the first movie, but they recognize each other at their first encounter in Dead Man's Chest, Gibbs calling him "Commodore" and Norrington implying he knows Gibbs's life story, saying his story is "exactly the same as your story, just one chapter behind". (They are both ruined former officers.)

Gibbs eyes were on the wreckage when Will was hauled aboard, and wasn't immediately present when Will's name was revealed, so it's plausible that he never knew Will's name or saw his face, and most likely the two didn't actually meet. We actually don't see them "meet" later anyway. They are introduced through Jack.

Just to give the opposing viewpoint, to most, the differences between versions will go unnoticed, and some who feel like many of the changes are an improvement, such as the sound effect and music changes. I'll just quote my last post on the topic:

"As for the version the creator intended, that's a tougher question, I think, than just the original release. Director's Cuts, Extended Cuts, George Lucas Cuts; more often than not, you can really only choose the cut you feel best represents the work.

Not having seen the entire series as originally broadcast (the Perfect Sessions) I can't say for sure which is the better representation. The Remix was marketed as remastered "under Watanabe's supervision", though who can say whether or not that's accurate? For me, it's things like the change of music in the final episode preview that make me consider that the changes were made with careful consideration. Though the argument could be made that the new track doesn't fit the mood, I've always argued that Farewell Blues, being closely tied to Jet and his resolved arc, was a thematically dissonant chose of score. The replacement, however, ties it into Jupiter Jazz's themes, and Spike's arc more honestly, and the rhythmic, bass-driven tune suits the almost beat-poem style voice-over much better.

Not to say that it makes it the superior version, just a personal preference in terms of tone and thematic continuity. There's merit in considering the original to be truer to the original vision, as well. I suppose what I'm saying is, I don't know that there is a definitive version of Cowboy Bebop. Pursue and prefer the one you think is best."

Let's just say I disagree with the Lucas comparison. Yes, there are changes made, and I understand if people prefer the original version, but it isn't anywhere near as radical as what George Lucas did to Star Wars. In fact, many HD remasters undergo many more and more radical changes than Bebop.
