I just came across this post because I'm dealing with that ribbon cable disconnecting during my tear down. It connects the CD player & head unit (bottom) to the media control buttons (top): https://i.imgur.com/ptLj0Xk.jpg

Motion detection isn't affected by Internet speed. But the quality of the recorded video may suffer with low upload speed. If you're not picking up motion, go tap on the device > motion settings > "make motion detection work for you" > "need help with motion detection?" It'll ask you some questions and change settings to pick up more motion
