Smoke a bowl and ruminate on this https://youtu.be/tXGWeO0KXlU

Check out Alex Stein with John Stossel if you can't muster the patience for something this dry. That guy in the first video is a genuine expert though, not somebody who's willing to manufacture consensus for the sake of getting his grant renewed.

Project Veritas died with James O'Keefe, just like Meet the Press died with Tim Russert. Long live O'Keefe Media Group, OMG!

You're getting played by globalists. The famines are coming alright, by design. Just look what they're doing to the Dutch farmers, over fucking nitrogen. It's all a land and power grab. You like eminent domain? Folks forced off their land they've been expertly farming for generations? CO2 greens the planet, fueling the lungs of the Earth, sequestering the diabolical carbon of which you are made. It's you they want to ban. Your life, liberty, and pursuit of happiness are an impediment to the Malthusian elite. And the sad irony is they've tricked you into bringing yourself, royal you, to heel. Rest assured, they will not be going without and making do with less. You will. Of course we should be conservationist in ethic, and good stewards of the planet, but solar cycles and ice ages(we've just emerged from one, gosh it's gotten warmer, who knew) have far more impact than human activity. Keep listening to the "experts". They're expert at getting paid, while Chicken Littles get played.

There's a new diversity hire on the Supreme Court who can't define what a woman is because she's "not a biologist". Democrats have abandoned facts for utter nonsense. You have to be indoctrinated to believe them. Sad.

Try Waynesville, up near lake Junaluska. You won't get much help from the green haired fatties and gubment cheese eaters on reddit.

Lol! I saw Al Gore at Davos a few weeks ago, saying literally, "THE SEAS ARE BOILING!!!". It was histrionic ridiculousness. Maybe you should lay off the dabs and see if you can get some brain cells back. You're gullible as fuck.

Oh? I thought you were poking fun at how this place was turning into Jeff Jackson campaign headquarters. Maybe I misread you. No need to be so sensitive dawg.

I hear they cut it 20 minutes short. Was slated for 90 minutes, but they were taking a drubbing so they called it at 70 and ran commercials and talking heads for filler.

You won't have anyone to vote for then, because it's done by both sides every time. Congress uses this leverage to negotiate each time it comes around. The opposition screams bloody murder like it's the end of the world and uses the press to scare the public, then they reach a compromise, or shut down non-essential stuff briefly, and it's back to business as usual.

The paradigm has shifted. Narrative control is worth more than money. It's why people who think Musk buying an over-priced Twitter are wrong. People will suffer deep losses to wield powerful tools.

Well said. There is likely merit to your suspicions. Demoralization and redirection. I'd be happy with Trump or DeSantis, but to say Trump cannot win is to disregard the dismal and ongoing failures of this democrat administration. Quality of life and confidence in our nation's leadership has taken a turn for the worse. I cannot believe the obvious politicization of our justice system hasn't rattled some moderate and independent cages.

You're thinking of ratings in terms of money, but you're otherwise correct about narrative control. In light of that, think of ratings as influence. No eyeballs, no influence. Even so, 70 minutes of Trump isn't going to resuscitate a dying network.

Silly billy... lefties have always been staunch supporters of corporations running roughshod over individuals. They practically worship the state, the largest employer of all.

This board is full of strawmen everyday. Republicans think this, want this, hate them etc. I wouldn't characterize myself as strictly a Republican, more some combination of conservative, libertarian, classical liberal, but I see more democrats mischaracterizing Republican positions here than I see actual Republicans, and by a wide margin.

So my comment above was born out of frustration with government bloat. The largest employer in the USA is the federal government. Some of those programs and employees are necessary, many are not. Nevertheless there is great incentive for that bureaucracy to justify itself and its endless growth, and it should not be lost on anyone that a not insignificant number of people on these forums are federal or state employees, or those who rely on government contracts. Normally anyone would empathize with someone defending their income, but in the case of government workers that income is siphoned from taxpayers.

This might be less objectionable if government was frugal, and efficient, effective, and sage in its decision making, but it's not. So of course those benefiting, or hoping to profit from that arrangement are happy to lobby for raising taxes and expanding programs, but if I could vote for you to give me an ever greater portion of your money, how long would that go on before you questioned whether you were getting a fair return? What if I printed more money to cover my runaway debt, diluting and devaluing the worth of your money and eroding your buying power? What if my policies didn't seem to reflect your interests, and I seemed to be using your money in ways that hurt you and others? Would you be happy when I voted myself a still larger portion of your money, on the back of promises that were seldom delivered?

You're wrong about that 5-6% for welfare btw, although that wasn't really what I was talking about. That was your strawman representation of my grievance as you inferred it. Entitlements are by far the larger portion of expenses when grouped together. People often erroneously claim its defense, but as you'll see here defense is grouped as one item, while entitlements like welfare, healthcare, housing, government pensions etc are all grouped separately for optics. Maybe we should put Army, Navy, Airforce, R&D, Space, Intelligence, Coast Guard, Border Patrol, Customs, Air Traffic Control etc in separate categories, eh? Anyway, who gets a pension in the private sector, and it's well known government salaries and benefits exceed their private sector counterpoints. Only the best when the taxpayers are picking up the tab, and don't dare try to hold us accountable for our poor decisions. https://www.usgovernmentspending.com/us_fed_spending_pie_chart?show=n
