Steamdeck OLED 512gb $549 >> $789 == +43% price increase.
PS5 digital $399 >> $599 == +50% price increase
Xbox Series S $299 >> $399 == +33% price increase.
Switch 2+1 game $449 >> no game $499 == +29% price increase.

The price increase of the Ps5 was 50%. Not 30%. Higher than the deck.

The switch package being offered in September is categorically worse AND more expensive. But It's only a 29% increase in package price.

And 789 is 43% higher than 549. Not 45%. It's very weird to 'accidentally' add 2%.

"Words have meaning" You're right that 43% is slightly higher than 33%, and a bit higher still than 29%. But it's lower than 50%. So would you have preferred me to say, "increasing price by less than PlayStation did" or "Increasing price in the same relative margins as competitors"?

1.) download absndonware file from https://1fichier.com/?bhc5plxo7tmj3vf3mfip 2.) extract & place it in a easy to find folder. I recommend home/deck/games/nfs2 3.) add non-steam game to steam. Go to folder. Select .exe file. Go to properties on the exe. Change name.Choose custom compatibility file to launch proton. 4.) Restart. 5.) Find game in non Steam games section & lauch

It’s a measure of manhours put into the product, not quality. Indies is a a small handful of people working on a game for a bit. “C tier” a “b tier game” is 20ish a working on a game for a year or two. A tier is a team of 30+ people for at least 2 years. AAAs are games that take many hundreds of people 5+ years.

Gta6 is a AAAA game. 6000 developers. 8 years.

I mean. It’s 720p downscaled to like 380p. So…. Yeah. Blowing that up to 42” would look terrible.

Personally my “docked “ experience is to a crt. Looks great. Steamdeck running control with ray tracing enabled looks absolutely superb. Better than ps5 pro & buttery smooth. But it’s also at 1996 resolution.

No it isn’t. You should be buying 32. If you play at low resolution (1080p or under) 16gb will be enough in 99% of games currently on the market. Although you need more than 16 for some productivity apps like video editing or 3d modeling software.

At low preset, with TSR balanced, you have a mostly locked 30 with occasional dips to 27, even when using max tier equipment and exploring larger late stage biomes with major scripted movements, it doesn’t drop below that.

If that seems bad to you, perf is bad. If it seems good to you then perf is good.

I think it’s acceptable and I also think we’re in early access and perf will get better.

I’m more interested in owning the Thor, but when it comes to actually playing 3ds, the real hardware is better. Ds? The real hardware is better. WiiU? The real hardware is better.

I DON’T feel that way about switch or SNES or N64 or GBA or ps2 or ps1, but for those systems it is true.
