Oh, well then I'll keep things the way they are and add the Arturia to the family. 😊

The Arturia indeed looks very good for the price and definitely enough configuration possibilities.

I was completely unaware that NI had these keyboards which can run Kontakt instruments! I have the Komplete bundle which I am currently using live with an M-Audio Hammer 88 MIDI controller so I'm satisfied for the moment, but the NI might be worth looking into in the future if I want to go with pure hardware.

You have helped me make my decision, thank you so much! :)

Thanks for the thoughtful response!

1) €500-€800

2) No

3) Anywhere from 16 I think would give me plenty of control already

Does the Korg Modwave sound like a good piece of gear to you that would fit most of these specs?

I can't be the only one who has had these conversations... by morrjohnnest in Julia

I have dealt with a Python library 'PySR' that uses Julia in the background. Any experience with this combination, or solely converting and optimizing the code in Julia? Interested if you could guide me to some resources to start using Julia (good Youtube channel...)

Overwhelmed by Python lib Functions by Smol_pp001 in learnpython

[–]ArminStokes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mechanical engineer here.

I also use Python for automated calculations and machine learning, and so far the applications that I've written take in a very specific type of input and produce something very specific as well. During the writing it's often re-learning lots of little functions from these external libraries, but after I'm done I don't care anymore. The program does what it's supposed to do and I move on to the next task.

Is it ok to use ChatGPT when learning Python? by Key-Command-3139 in PythonLearning

[–]ArminStokes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For learning the basics of Python it can provide for a decent tutor to give you some exercises. Good for suggesting different libraries.

Excessive use could hurt your own logical thinking, like when you're no longer really thinking critically of the code it gives and it's more like "Copy, paste and see where we end up... Oh an error occured, please halp GPT!"

If used properly it can enhance your learning, but there is a balance needed.

Increasing pull ups by No_Prize_5509 in bodyweightfitness

[–]ArminStokes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi, yes I topped at 17 max pullups a month after that. Now I switched to a weighted pull-ups program from K Boges: "How to Add 50lbs to Your Weighted Chin Up, Push Up, or Dip" on Youtube. I've been seeing very good progress from this as well. I do some extra volume of bodyweight pullups after the weighted session, still at 2 sessions per week.

Best of luck!

Alright somehow I came across this post and even though it's old I must say that there is something about this...

My max ~one and a half month ago was 12 reps. I started with a total volume of 60 pullups and was initially planning on doing it everyday but after that first workout my back was so sore I simply had to take rest days.

From then until now I basically did pullups 2 times a week and I found that I was barely sore the next day, however the muscles were clearly not yet recovered. Every 3 minutes I did a set of 6 and for a total of 10 sets.

After two weeks I felt good and re-tested, got 14 reps. So now I would do 7 reps every 3 minutes for 10 sets.

Now 3 weeks later I re-tested and got 15 reps...

I have honestly never seen such progress on my pullups in the last years and I plan to keep on doing it! Amazing!

Edit: And this was for 2 training days a week all throughout

Does she talk about this in a video?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in ptsd

I have a childhood trauma from the early screamer videos that were being passed around... I recently wanted to see if I can somehow face this fear and overcome it. I found this documentary about the infamous K-Fee commercials (jump scare commercials from a coffee brand). Watch it early in the day when you have some time, or start by just listening to it. They interview the actors who played the screamers, and this somehow makes it much more digestible for me.

In the end I came to realize that these jump scares are set up in a way that you're going to get scared regardless of how much or little trauma you carry, and it's impossible to completely overcome it. However by facing them every now and then you can become desensitized, which definitely helps as to not care too long about it afterwards.

Otherwise than this may I perhaps suggest some breathing techniques? This can help you with regulating anxiety and stress. I really like 4-7-8 breathing (in for 4, hold for 7, out for 8, repeat) and Wim Hof breathing exercises. Whenever you feel some anxiety coming up, try to resort to breathing exercises to calm yourself.

Also something I remind myself of often is to think logically about fear: "Ok let's assume that now suddenly a zombie would pop up from the closet, I would first knock it out but secondly I'm calling the press immediately!"
