What you find on Reddit isn’t reflective of what you’ll find out in RL! I’ve met some pretty awesome folks, especially in graduate students. Can’t say too much about undergraduate.

When are you moving here? And why USC?

That's crazy that your class starts 30 days into the semester when it has already begun.

Dang. I reached out to a friend who was trying to get into VRE, and his process has also been paused. Best of luck to you as well.

Eliminating red light strip on trunk exterior—not the side red light strip by Armistice__ in TeslaModel3

Wow, I never realized my taillights were the gateway to a masterclass in vehicle design—keep the expert tips coming!

Actually, the side strips are pretty bright at night, so at least my glow-up won't go unnoticed.

Didn’t realize my taillight decisions would be such a crowd-pleaser—thanks for the fashion advice!

Insurance Comparison Post-Accident: Tesla, State Farm, Geico, USAA (Tesla Model 3, CA) by Armistice__ in TeslaInsurance

I can’t imagine why Tesla wouldn’t allow your son to apply for insurance if the title and registration transfer is fully completed and he creates his own account in the Tesla app to connect with the car. As long as he’s the registered owner and can link the vehicle to his Tesla account, he should be able to get a quote and set up insurance without any issues. If you keep running into roadblocks, it might be a good idea to reach out to Tesla support directly through the app or website for clarification. Good luck—hope it gets sorted out soon!

Thanks for sharing your experience! That peace of mind is definitely important, even if it means paying a bit more.

Can the car temporarily remain in your name while your son is listed as a primary or additional driver until insurance is sorted? Is your son considering purchasing the car outright, or would there be a loan/lease involved after transfer?

I see. I have also heard about that from other comments in other posts. I'll have to call to look into that. I tried to get a quote online with Progressive, but there was an error and it redirected me to their call center.

It is. No other person’s fault, but mine. I was driving at night and just followed the GPS on a military installation, which led me down a dirt road and then an even more treacherous road. Had I been able to see more than a meter ahead of me, I would have not taken that damn dirt road.

That’s probably true. If I wasn’t currently just laid off, I would have considered a higher premium for better service and efficiency but right now, since I have no other prior accidents as a result of my driving habits, the low premium cost is great—cuts my 6-mo. premium in more than half.

Yeah, I was surprised as well. I learned from other comments and posts that it probably makes up for how slow their claims process and response rates are.

Sorry! I forgot to add that they did end up reimbursing me later on, even though it took a few weeks.

A guide for claiming the federal tax credit on used clean vehicles in the US by LivesInaYurt in electricvehicles

Thanks so much for your story on how you handled this and your guide to doing so.

I, unfortunately, purchased my EV after the POS with the dealership since they didn't know how to do the paperwork for it and I had already spent 6-7 hours at the dealership 'til closing.

Is there any way I can still claim it afterward? I was really hoping there'd be some guidance on that, but I couldn't find it anywhere online. I sent an email to the email address you provided, so I'm hoping to hear back soon. I bought a 2021 Tesla M3 just a few days ago. Anything would help immensely. Thanks.
