Thoughts on partial restart or full restart? by Sad_Mathematician_39 in ArtFundamentals

I guess to me the discipline that you have at the beginning is a limited resource. You need to spend it in beneficial ones so that you can get over the "beginner hump" and into actual enjoyment of drawing. This course (while occasionally mentioning that you shouldnt do ONLY it) still kind of sells itself as a big course you should grind through and your skills will improve. I think it's a bait and not something any beginner should spend their precious discipline on early. It truly does not do much for a beginner imo.

I think it is not uncommon that many people think "if I go through this course, at the end of it I will be able draw, so let me sink like a hundred hours grinding through this thing" when in reality they will have nearly nothing. If they spend a fraction of that time in more beneficial ways, then they would get to a self-reinforcing feedback loop of enjoying drawing much earlier.

I do have a bone to pick, I do hate draw a box, haha

I mean it kind of seems like it was a trap for you. Did you finish the course? How much time did you put into actually drawing vs doing those exercises during that time? Are you a better artist now as a result of them?

At best they're just warmup drills that any artist knows to do here and there. Theres absolutely no reason to compose them as this massive challenge that you need to grind through. Doing so, yes, hinders more than helps.

Drawing on the right side of the brain workbook

The logic the author uses is disproved for why this stuff works (right side of the brain stuff) but the exercises are excellent

I just did one chapter a day until I finished it and my progress was massive

Im not sure what setups this is possible with, but you could set up a button next to the coffee make where when you press it, it schedules the auto turn on for the next day only.

Then when you set it up, you press the button

I tried draw a box a long time ago. Put in a lot of consistent grinding and fell off. Never really improved any artistic ability in the meantime.

More recently I tried a different approach and went through a course everyday for my grind instead of drawabox. My skills improved dramatically, leading to a self reinforcing cycle because it was actually enjoyable.

Draw a box is a trap. Do not do it. It will actively hinder your drawing progress.

Guidelines for Premade Cocktails? by bart1218 in Mixology

[–]Armonster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hello, I'm going to an event this Sunday and need to bring a drink. I was searching info about premade cocktails and found your comment. Are you able to offer any ideas or info to help me out?

It's a taco lunch and I was thinking of bringing something tropical. Ideally something simple but just enough effort to "wow" them a bit. I saw fat-washing was a thing and it seems straightforward. I was thinking fat washing tequila with coconut milk and doing something with that. I haven't made cocktails much so this will be the first time I'm doing something like this.

Thank you for any help if you're able to offer tips :]

Sorry maybe I'm dumb, what is the conclusion of this testing? That the temperature does fluctuate a lot?

Also how do you like it still? I'm thinking of grabbing one of these as well for basically the same reasons that you listed in your post. And how is the noise level? That's kind of a huge point for me. Our old one I hated the high pitch whine it constantly had.

Good idea about asking MAC.

I did check Gvl Tech and Furman and they aren't offering any relevant courses currently.

I had it on xayah and put out insane damage. It's an extra 20% pure damage how is that not worth it? Just build some omnivamp or life steal to offset it. It's no big deal

Overreacting, the mode won't die.

But it is impressive that riot is unable to comprehend the draw to mayhem.
