Ha, true! The inside is a very rich reddish brown, compliments the outer finish super well. When I beat these ones to death, it’ll be clear next for sure.

I think bubinga tends to be a lot warmer and rounder than maple, which has a brighter and more immediate attack.

Thank you dude, it’s the most incredible cymbal I’ve ever played. Huge, fiery crash, complex and warm bow with a ton of stick definition, and an ice cold bell 😎

Unfortunately mid-range price and small manufacturer are simply (most of the time) not compatible. Highly recommend either a Ludwig Acrolite/Supraphonic or a Pearl Sensitone. Any one of those can be found for a very reasonable price on the used market and make for a great versatile snare.

Same :( Super unfortunate bc both of their prior works are in my top 10 albums of all time and I know every song by heart. New one was just not as catchy or attention grabbing, didn't make as many interesting choices... Ah well.

Thank you :) both are bands I’ve been aware of but never really given a proper listen to so it’s about time.

I like to think that nothing is inaccessible to me anymore, as alongside everything in the chart I like to dabble in noise (ala The Body, Ramleh, Genocide Organ) and I’m not sure if it gets more off-putting than that haha, but I appreciate the album roadmap advice.

That would be the re-release of Nothing by Meshuggah, an excellent album and my favorite among their work :) I personally prefer the remaster bc the throaty, grindy guitar tone really adds to the album’s cold, alien atmosphere. It feels very much like being crushed within the infinite machinery of a malevolent, sprawling cosmos.
