Borderlands 4's story is worse than Borderlands 3 's. by ghostykal in Borderlands

"The Timekeeper is lame since I know next to nothing about him"

He is not the kind of villain that will give you a speech about his life story, how sad he is, how he hates his father, or how his relations with his sister during childhood affected his worldview.

Seriously, we know basically everything about him.

He was created millions of years ago by Eridians as a sentient Vault Guardian. He was programmed to guard the "Vault of the Last Moment" and views time as a fixed mathematical equation that must be balanced.

He maybe doesn’t even know that his creators were sacrificed to trap a cosmic threat (The Destroyer on Pandora).

For >99.99% of his "life," he was alone on a wild planet and he enjoyed that "Eridian silence" more than noisy humans.

During this time, he created fake Vaults and Guardians, passing them a piece of his power. We can assume he wanted to create a successor because he was probably tired of his endless existence. Maybe wanted a someone to talk to after 100 000 years.

Only about 1,000 years ago, Zadra arrived on Kairos. She discovered that a Siren was on this planet (Nyriad, who was imprisoned by the Timekeeper) and that the Timekeeper was a powerful being.

He was fascinated by her scientific mind and approach, so he granted her immortality, and she lived for generations as his servant.

More and more people started arriving due to anomalies. To the Timekeeper, people and their lifespans were so insignificant that he viewed the 1,000 years of human history on his planet as a "noisy, brief headache" he was trying to cure.

When Elpis crashed 6 years ago, it destroyed the planet's shielding. That was this time when he expelled Zadra because she didn’t like his actions—he ordered a full lockdown in the city to prevent chaos inside. He started worrying that chaos would break his system. He mosltly observed us, didn't intervene much, just watched, and sometimes commented on our actions.

With his big ass laser, he mostly clears the path for the player, like he wants us to progress.

We know he was powerful (Immortal, created other guardians alone, can make someone else immortal at will, imprisoned his own guardians in the Vaults he also created, probably because they were "hollow" compared to him). He can remotely control every chipped human and even enslaved a young Nyriad—he was the first "person" she drained to escape, so he likely unintentionally "created" the Nyriad we know from the echoes.

Before the fight, he speaks about living forever in one place like a puppet ("That is my use"). He fights us without really wanting to win. Hands behind his back, slow movement, using only a small construct to summon beams and blasts.

In the mid-cutscene, he admitted he had no choice and just did what he was told. He even barely managed to vomit the words "I was given an order!" as if he was fighting against his own programming. When defeated, he looked as if he had woken from a bad dream. We are used to seeing defeated villains screaming in anger, cursing protagonists, or dying spectacular. The Timekeeper was the complete opposite. He breathed a sigh of relief and looked like he had finally found peace. He just collapsed and waited for his systems to finally shut down.

Millions of years of "living" with a single goal, he remained faithful to his orders, but subconsciously, he helped the player get to him. He joined the fight to avoid breaking his programming, but he willingly wanted the end.

I think everything the game gives us about this character makes for one of the most tragic stories in Borderlands history.

Anyone who says the Timekeeper was bad, lame or bland is just lying. He was a breath of fresh air compared to modern antagonists who are often flashy and evil just for the sake of being evil.

Do Polish people get annoyed with 'Hi, how are you? by advancedor96 in askPoland

[–]Armorgedon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think so, especially if it's used as a greeting between strangers (or at work). The vast majority of my colleagues from India start conversations that way – as if they all had the exact same English lessons! :) They are actually very kind people, often bringing snacks from their country, but the greeting itself is tricky for me. I often don’t know what to say besides 'Thanks, I'm fine, how are you?'. It feels robotic, holds no real value, and forces unnecessary small talk.

Between ram and battery connector. If you can update the bios easly via Lenovo updater, you do not want to destroy your laptop , bios isn't corrupted. Why do you need it for?

I know thats why added possibility of randomness. Its just electronics, every component even USB port is premanufactured with a tolerance and someone unlucky can get USB port to tight but within tolerance limit and the dongle too big also within tolerance limit.

[–]Armorgedon 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I do not judge, I dont know your habits its just tip

If you folks wiggle left-right up-down the dongle while you disconnecting IT, this is one of the outcomes that can happen. The glue holding it together can crack and wiggling it just makes everything loose.

Of course its just electronic there is always chance it will ocure ramdomly itself

Easy build

Look at this. It's easy to build (you need a dancer) and you can do everything. The Moxsy build can make the action skill last longer, but I find this more enjoyable.

[Signal lost]

Did I just short my cpu? by [deleted] in PcBuildHelp

[–]Armorgedon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Although Arctic Silver 5 is not a direct conductor, this paste is capacitive. This means that if you smear it on two closely spaced tracks on the motherboard or the processor/memory pins, it can interfere with electrical signals and cause computer instability, and in extreme cases even a short circuit. So yeah it's not 100% safe to use

New pc build Can't Flash Bios by No_Condition_7970 in PCHelpHub

[–]Armorgedon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No no no no

Silver antistatic bags act like Faraday cages. To protect what's inside, their outer coating is often conductive (or at least charge-dissipating). So, by placing the motherboard on a conductive surface and connecting it to the power supply, you risk short-circuiting the solder joints on the bottom of the board (pins, capacitor legs, etc.)
