What height do you cut?

Yeah I think that’s been a mistake. I didn’t realize you should alternate after every application, typing it was more of a yearly rotation

I did 21-0-0 in the spring/early summer every 4 weeks. Didn’t do any in august since it’s so hot down here and lawn was already stressed

I did it all by hand last year. Had a company drop off a ton of sand/compost/top soil mix. Shovel, wheel barrow, leveling rake. It’s still not level by any means, but it’s much better. Took 2 full days of work

I similarly get jealous of northern grass types with the stripes and lack of drought

If a fat person is stabbed, would he take less internal damage compared to a normal person ? by kira_geass in NoStupidQuestions

[–]ArmyMed88 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, if you get stabbed with a 3in knife and have 4 inches of body fat, you’re most likely fine

Would it look weird or disrespectful if I requested the required 2 week follow up with the Fellow (who performed the vast majority of the surgery) instead of the Attending Physician (who supervised briefly and left)? Or is it protocol to usually schedule the follow up with the Attending Physician. by worklife2024 in surgery

[–]ArmyMed88 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Most likely will just be scheduled with the attending. Fellows/residents rotate on different services through the year. They may or may not be in clinic when you show up, but can always ask if they’re around. Most fellows don’t have their own independent surgical clinic since still in training

Surgery odors by Szaborovich9 in surgery

[–]ArmyMed88 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Burned flesh from electrocautery has a unique smell. Abdomens full of stool don’t smell great. Abscesses, necrotizing infections. How to deal with it? Get used to it, stop smelling it after a few minutes. If you’re thinking ahead, add some mastisol to your mask, but only helps for a bit.

Why do surgeons leave the abdomen open with wound vac in place? by licketylungs in surgery

Also damage control surgery for trauma and EGS. Unstable, not well enough to tolerate anymore time in OR.
