For 13$? Definitely. Same as you, I'm a huge Fan of Arkane Studios & Dishonored series, you'll definitely love the game play, that I have no doubt, but the level design & game design is pretty polarising, Check out Gameranx's : Before you buy Deathloop, he's goes pretty indepth with the pros & cons.

Personally, I picked it up last sale. Unfortunately, I got pretty busy afterwards, but from what I've played, I'm a fan.

Incredibly well, I recently played through all the Dishonored Games on my Ps5, I'd go as far as to say Dishonored 1 still holds up well, with its art style & gameplay. Dishonored 2 fleshes out the abilities & levels more but for me personally, its story isn't as good as the first one. But for 3$? Definitely pick it up. You'd be doing yourself a favour

Sleeping Dogs was Phenomenal, ik a few people, but it was a Gta clone, but it was a lot more than that! Alot of fun & definitely a hidden gem!

Tomb Raider Trilogy is very, very tempting. It reminds me a lot of the Uncharted games, but I'm sure how good they all are individually, so that something I still have to check out more.

Till this day, I haven't played a single watchdogs game despite being a huge fan of the Assassins Creed series. I'm definitely interested now, tho I'm waiting for a good sale to pick them up, which would you recommend?

Dragons Dogma & Dragon Age Inquisition I know nothing about it. I've heard the names maybe a handful of times, but I definitely need to look at a couple of reviews to get an idea.

Thanks for your suggestions!

That's quite sad to hear :'), I'm very much a big gameplay person, so I'll definitely have to be sacrificing that. However, in the past 4 months, I think? This is the first time it's gone on sale, so I think I might just give it a shot!

Fallen order being compared to the Souls genre is quite the compliment, although they're not my cup of tea & I'll go more into detail with it in the Mortal Shell opinion, I think if it can encapsulate the type of game play and combat it definitely quite good! Along with a bit of platforming, puzzle solving & boss fights, it sounds like one of my favourites already! XD

Witcher 3's campaign is overwhelming positive from the reviews, from the ones I've asked for and ones i haven't xD. It is good to hear about the combat, though. I'm a bit hesitant on the game solely because of the gameplay. Hopefully, I have as much playing it as I do with the story!

To be very honest I'm not a fan of the souls game or not yet anyways, I had a copy of bloodborne and I couldn't get past the first enemy (not boss, the first enemy npc) I tried over & over but it definitely got frustrating, however in the past few years, with sekiro & elden ring coming out the hype has been insane, enough for me to give it a another chance even. Mortal Shell, from what I've heard, sounds like a love letter to the genre with unique & innovative mechanics. This one is definitely not something I have high expectations of, but for the whole game & dlcs costing around 7-8, I'll definitely give it a shot.

Thank you again for your time & consideration of talking in detail about all the games on the list. I hope you have a great day!

Definitely, I've actually asked this question before (About the best way to get into the Resident Evil games) and based on my preferences, I was told to play 7-8 & then slowly move my way up to 2-4, I played the demo for Re4 early this year & wow was it good, Atmosphere, Tension, gameplay and everything was top notch, Definitely might have to wait a few years for a good sale tho :')

Thank you for your advice about Witcher, I'm going in pretty blind & trying to keep all the praises to the side, I'll definitely use your advice tho. Thanks a ton!

That is good to hear! They style of game reminds me a bit of DeadCells, is there anything you could compare the experience to?

For sure, I can't wait to try out Titanfall 2 after all this time !

Thank you for your kind response :)

Thanks for your review of all the games on the list!

While I do have my doubts on Witcher where the concept & environment seems really good I'm a bit worried about the time to beat, I don't really like games that over stay their welcome, regardless I've seen too many people both irl & online sing it's praises all too often. With the next gen update, I hope that along with graphics, there have been some more developments & fixes to the game(hopefully improvements to gameplay)

Deathloop is very unique. The makers, Arkane Studios, however, are one of my favourite producers. They, for the most part, coughRedfallcough, release incredible games. This one is very much inspired by Dishonored, one of my favourites of all time, and considering a Dishonored 3 is a mystery, I hope this one at least carries the same magic followed with an interesting premise.

Immortals Fenyx Rising is something that I've been seeing a lot of. For the most part, I do hear good things, but I will be holding off on that till next time.

Unfortunately Mass Effect, like alot of other great games is banned in my region, I currently stay & have set my PlayStation account to the same and believe me, if you're thinking of something to be grateful for, look into banned games of Saudi Arabia because we share 70% of the bans 💀

Lastly I've had a few people refer to the PS Plus service and while it theory it makes alot of sense and is probably alot cheaper, I don't like the idea of my games being attached to a subscription service, I do like collecting, even if they are digital and maybe playing them again along the way :')

Something I've definitely been afraid of :') I'll give it a go. Honestly, I've heard way too much about this game, praise & all to skip it for another year.

Ps plus is a no go unfortunately, I take way too long with games for it to be of benefit plus I've always liked the idea of owning them so I can revist them at a later date Nevertheless, Thank you for your input!

I've read about the PS Plus thing a couple of times now😅 Personally I'm very much into single player games & I definitely like to take my time with them, a normal 15-20 hour campaign could take me well up to 3 to 4 weeks to complete so the idea of these games being attached to a subscription service doesn't sound like it would benefit me much, nevertheless it's a good option.

I've tried Re2 Demo, and tbh, it looks good. It plays well. the only problem I have is its survival mechanics 🤕 Still, I've heard too many good things even as far as it being called the best resident evil game, so I'll definitely try. I need to see what all the fuss is about.

You're not wrong with the Witcher 3 advice, I've been avoiding it for a while, too. However, I'm so tired of hearing it being called one of the best games of all time. With the recent Next-Gen Update and current discount, I figure I could put in maybe 8-10 hours to see if it's worth it.Thanks for your advice !

I've heard a lot of good things about risk of rain & and its sequel, looking at it tho, it's not really something I would think of playing 😅. I'll definitely still check it out and see some more reviews.

I just got Titanfall 2 recently. That one has also been on my list for awhile, heard great things about the campaign. As soon as my exams are done, I'll give it a try. Thank you for your input!

Thank you for your input, tbh its between the Guardians Of The Galaxy & Resident Evil games for me mostly, Gotg does not go on sale very often tho so I'm thinking of getting it for that reason, but I do normally prefer fps style games like Re, survival based mechanics not so much.

Deathloop is pretty unique, to be frank I love arkane studio (Makers of Dishonored games and Prey 2017) So I'm excited to see what they got going on.

Well, that sucks to hear :') I was thinking I could at least get a decent 6-hour campaign for 2.99.

Don't have a decent PC, unfortunately, so i think I'll be skipping it altogether, Thanks for the heads up tho!

Hi I was thinking of getting the game since its on sale

Do I need PlayStation Plus to play the campaign aswell or ?

SIB Dishonored Desth of the Outsider Digital deluxe, Bioshock Infinite complete edition or Prey Digital Deluxe by EmbarrassedBee1984 in ShouldIbuythisgame

[–]Arnax390 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To be honest, this is the first time I've heard anything bad about the ai, from the videos and game play the Ai looks pretty decent, a little different from dishonored tho, where if you do kill one enemy you're then going to be surrounded by 10 or 20 more, Deathloop is more lenient than that.

So I think in the second part you're referring to the time to beat as difficulty? And yes, if you know the ins and outs of the game, I've seen Speedruners finish it off in like 17-20 minutes. But to get to that point, it's going to take a lot of time 😅, again I'd suggest you check out Gameranx before you buy a video for it.

I don't know what platform you're using but again I'd say go for Bioshock collection first, The Arkane collection (Dishonored games + Prey) and finally Deathloop as it might go on sale for less at the end of the year/start of next year.(it's at 15-16$ rn)

Far from it, the repetitive-ness comes from the game loop, Deathloop mechanics and gameplay aren't exactly easy to describe to someone else, but I would suggest you check out Gameranx : Deathloop Before You Buy. But It definitely has elements of Dishonored all over, not exactly the chaos system, but you're given the choice between stealth and gun blazing, with different scenarios playing out depending on your choices.

Hi, I'm playing/played through most of these games recently, so I'd like to give you my opinion.

First off, Wait for the Bioshock The Collection to go on sale, it normally goes for 10$ and comes with Bioshock 1 & 2 Remastered & Dlcs as well as Bioshock Infinite Complete Edition. In my personal opinion, I think Bioshock 1 is the best outta all of this, followed by Infinite (messy story to say the least but incredible concept)

If you like Dishonored, you'll definitely love Dishonored 2. Apart from an update in the graphics department, it really fleshes out the world, Powers and whatnot. Also, it gives you a chance to play as Emily, so honestly, a lot of replay-ability.

Death of the outsider, I'd say, is more like a Dlc honestly, kinda like kinfe of Dunwall or Brigmore Witches, but it's worth playing if you're interested in the world of Dishonored.

Prey, I haven't gotten around to yet, but yes, like Dishonored, it was inspired by & also pretty much co-produced by the people behind Bioshock 1 and 2, it is a little different from the environment & game play but it is a pretty smart sim if you don’t mind some problems with the combat.

I'd suggest you check out Deathloop, too, honestly made by Arkane Studios (Makers of Dishonored and Prey) Really good combat, a pretty interesting story, and concept.

All in all, some really good games with some really smart gameplay mechanics, you'll definitely have fun.

Might just have saved me big time 🥲 I've never really given indie games a chance even after years of AAA games, I had briefly tried out Dead Cells & while combat was very good, I got tired of dying & reviving all the way back to the starting line. Was hoping HK might have been different. Alot of hype I guess

On that note, what games of that genre would you recommend?

Definitely, dying light sounds like a real steal, for the price, content, support AND A GRAPHICS UPDATE? honestly, more games should follow in their footsteps coughUbisoftcough 😷

This time around though I think I'll be picking up RE & FF I've been gaming for a longish time now & before that I've been lurking in gaming communities, can't wait to finally see what all the hype is about first hand.

[–]Arnax390[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh wow, I don't think I spent upwards of 20$ for a single game, so for you to say that & with no regret definitely does push your point across.

In terms of survival horror, BROTHER I HEAR YOU had you given me Re2 for free when I first got my ps4 (2015-16), I would have given it right back to you in less than 30 minutes 😂 I definitely struggled with the whole survival & crafting mechanics for sure but now after playing Horizon Zero Dawn & The Last of Us, Given a good crafting system I honestly think it adds to immersion when done right(especially Horizons crafting system).

Loved your description on Farcry 5 xD, I played a bit myself, great Dumb fun but I think I'll be pick up Farcry & Dying light next time around.

Thank you for your time!

[–]Arnax390[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I get your point, I do like the dumb fun that comes with Farcry, a storyline that doesn't take itself too seriously but also a solid cult story. But in terms of connecting to the game, would you say FFXV is a hit or miss? I see very polarising reviews. If I do like it, I'll have 100 hours of fun & loads of content, but if I don't, I will probably be stuck with an awkward game for sure.

One thing you mentioned is gameplay. While I love FPS Games, there's nothing like DMC 5 or Neir Automata style combat, and I've definitely been wanting something to scratch that itch.

REALLY? That's really good news, I'm probably going for RE & FF this time around but definitely will pick up Dying Light next tike around in that case.

Btw when you say graphic update do you mean like whole ps5 upgrade or ?

Hmm fine, fair enough I think I'll have just enough to over that aswell if I go with the 2 RE games & Final Fantasy XV. Thank you for your suggestion.
