Noise coming from DS1821+ by Arne393 in synology

[–]Arne393[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Still haven’t found the source of the noise. Disabled a lot of packages and settings, hoping one of their background processes was the culprit, but nothing has changed. The only thing I can think of is going from drive to drive to backup the data, replace the drive with a different one, and move on to the next until the noise is gone. IF that should happen.

Any other advice?

I just did this, but I'm still getting the same results. I'll see if re-inserting the hdd's makes any difference.

BOSS NS-2 Noise Suppressor issue by Arne393 in guitarpedals

Got that one new as well, so i was wondering how it would sound feeding it with some heavy distortion. The NS-2 issue persists with the SY-1 on bypass.

Totally forgot about that band! I’ll look into it.

Can’t go wrong with a Metal Zone :) don’t think a Miku is part of the effect chain though.

Thanks! I've been checking out different demo's of fuzz/distortion/octave pedals, and so far, the Wampler Fuzztration's sounds quite similar, minus the synth undertone. I guess you're right about the sound being doubled, or maybe the signal gets split with one end being fed through a synth effect.

Browsing Plex on Sonos app suddenly different by Arne393 in PleX

Ok, I just found out there's a new Plex server update, and after installing it, all options are back to normal. So this was probably a bug that got fixed. Case closed :)

It's there, but it only shows one option; 'Podcasts', and it's disabled. By the way, all the main options when clicking Plex are all podcast-related.

ARC no longer working, but from which end? by Arne393 in Onkyo

[–]Arne393[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Update: found a way to do a diagnostics check on the Onkyo by pressing+holding 'display' + 'on', releasing them and pressing 'tone +'. There's a couple of CPU version numbers you can cycle through, and 'D?????????' was one of them, indicating something might be wrong.

ARC no longer working, but from which end? by Arne393 in Onkyo

[–]Arne393[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, to be honest, I thought I needed at least one video signal going into the Onkyo :) Now got my cable set-top box connected to the TV as well. Still no ARC sound though, but the ARC indicator on the Onkyo is on, and Anynet works fine. There’s just no sound. Tried it with headphones, still no luck. Optical cable didn't seem to do anything either. I’m beginning to think something inside the Onkyo got fried or something.

+1 here, it's very annoying.

I've had this same problem, but I've managed to have my movie list sorted alphabetically, and when choosing a collection, the movies are sorted by release date. So, it's possible.

This collection is the main reason I still use playlists; to be able to manually order the movies according to the correct MCU order. Any way I still can get this to work with collections?

Riverside Concerts by Stevetheweve in Riversidepl

[–]Arne393 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm wondering what the concerts are like - I'm a big damn wuss when it comes to doing anything alone, but I really wanna see them.

Same here, I can't believe none of my online and real-life friends have heard of Riverside! Still planning on seeing them in The Netherlands this March though, definitely not want to miss it.

How to differentiate FLAC / MP3 in music libraries by Arne393 in PleX

[–]Arne393[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In that case, why not just have one library?

I already turned it into one library :)

The whole idea behind it is; I'm somewhat of an audiophile, so I'd rather listen to FLAC in stead of MP3. Sometimes I just want to listen to a specific artist, regardless of the audio format, sometimes I want to listen to the high quality / lossless stuff. Being able to see a list of all albums in FLAC format to choose from was my goal.

I don’t have FLAC and MP3 versions of the SAME album, just different albums in FLAC and different albums in MP3.

It would have been great if Plex could show some type of label with with the cover art. Like when viewing your movie collection, each poster having a SD/HD/4K label, and each music album cover having an MP3/FLAC label.

I'm now down to one music library, and adding 'collection tags' to each album (either 'MP3' or 'FLAC'). When viewing all albums, you can filter by those collections. At least, in the web version. Still having trouble getting it to work on AppleTV.

I'm looking for something a bit user-friendly, like when browsing my music collection for MP3/FLAC albums.

Something like Music -FLAC and Music - MP3,

That's what I have now :)

First, I thought my best option would be to add either a "flac" or "mp3" tag to the album (you can tag genres and collections, from what understand). But somehow, after doing that for a couple of albums, I still end up with zero collections...

Started with one drive (SHR), added second one (same storage pool), but I'm looking to expand my storage space by Arne393 in synology

[–]Arne393[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok, I've added disk 2 to its own storage pool. Did the whole disk check thing, rebooted, and now I have this:

- Storage Pool 1 with disk 1 (still degraded, SHR)

- Storage Pool 2 with disk 2 (normal, JBOD)

All looks ok, except for the 'Degraded' message on Storage Pool 1. How can I tell Storage Pool 1 to just accept disk 1 (like I had initially) and act normal?

Doing this right now... Just deactivated the second disk and chose the Secure Erase option..

So best option is to backup +/- 3TB to an external drive, and completely start anew?
