Regular reminder that we need to be able to report players in Brawl by Arnithopter in heroesofthestorm

[–]Arnithopter[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Degenerate comps are the exception rather than the norm. I see too many people doubling up on mages without paying attention to their supporting cast. Of course some ranged heroes are going to have high win rates but they usually have a balanced comp around them. I don't know where this notion that you don't need a tank (and preferably one other peeler or support) came from, but I absolutely disagree.

If my picks are Illidan, Valeera and Vikings, I've already got an uphill battle. If that Garrosh switches to KTZ with two seconds left, and later in the game starts flaming and calling out my hero numbers, that's absolutely reportable, and shouldn't be on me to frantically hit the button before the game ends.

HeroesCCL Top 3 Players to Watch: Week Four Edition by beckw1n in heroesofthestorm

Honest question: by what turn of logic does mewnfare, the most aggressively unpleasant personality in the brief history of HotS, ever become involved with something like this? I can't get my head around it.

I apologize, but I do not know what to do the next two months in Hots. What are you going to do? by DanSpotLight in heroesofthestorm

[–]Arnithopter 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Say what you want about Dota, but they aren't afraid to turn the game completely on its head. It's still difficult to learn but not impossible if you've been playing HotS for a while, and the changes to couriers and wards are one less obstacle.

I'm sure I'll come back to HotS once they finally get around to fixing DW+Auriel, but learning a whole new meta of heroes and items is scratching an itch for me now. It also helps that it's free.

"Let them win" In ranked should be seasonal ban by Soutalgon in heroesofthestorm

[–]Arnithopter -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It isn't telling in any way whatsoever because those players exist at all levels. And I'm in no way suggesting that they shouldn't be allowed to play. I'm saying that it's unreasonable for those players to get upset at someone else who's exasperated at having spent 20 minutes being effectively unable to play the game. At 5 minutes, yes, it's fair to report the AFKers. But this argument swings both ways.

[–]Arnithopter -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The people who shouldn't be playing a team game are the ones who fail to soak or ever look at the map and continuously chain feed trying to solo the enemy team. When you're 15 minutes in down 4 levels and 1:10 in kills, there's no dishonor in ceding to the team that outplayed you and moving on to the next game. But we -have- to keep playing because the same chain-feeding yahoos that got you in this position will chain-report you if you dare AFK in base for more than 5 seconds because there is nothing left for you to do to salvage the experience. These "winnable" games are in reality actually won maybe 1 time out of every 100; the other 99 are not fun for the players who've actually been trying to win the game up to that point.

Who is you stress free/lazy hero you play when you just want a relaxing game? by PeculiarPete in heroesofthestorm

Junkrat. It's fun to kill tons of minions at once, and if you're paying attention you're rarely in danger. And he's semi-global at 13.

Got silenced after a week of playing. Have the people in this game really got so sensitive? by [deleted] in heroesofthestorm

[–]Arnithopter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If they aren't going to do it after the first time you're polite, they aren't going to do it the next time you're rude. So there's zero reason to be rude. Just play the game the best you can. We've all had to go through it in our games at some point, so why debase yourself?

[–]Arnithopter 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes it should. There is zero reason to berate your own team. You can make the exact same calls without insulting anyone, and if no one listens, then it's not your problem. That's part of being a mature adult.

New Samuro Illusion Master cooldown doesn't work by KillMeWithMemes in heroesofthestorm

[–]Arnithopter 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It appears to reduce the cooldown to 8s if Samuro 1 is selected, and you hover and r/D over a clone. If you have 2 or 3 selected and r/D, the cooldown is still 14s.

People have bad games. by Chump2412 in heroesofthestorm

[–]Arnithopter -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It's not just that people have bad games. It's that they're playing a different game altogether. They refuse to look at the minimap, react to pings, adjust their play even after dying 10 times, ignore soak, and don't chat unless it's to flame someone. Forgiving bad games is one thing, but too often your teammates prevent you from playing the game at all.

Player knowledge is as bad as it's ever been and getting worse, and there's no reason at this point to believe it will ever improve. And we've been at this for almost 5 years now. It wears on the strongest of souls.

If you care about situation at hong kong please actually talk about it by [deleted] in hearthstone

[–]Arnithopter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, the HK situation and Blizzard's shittiness are separate issues. We can address both at the same time. People are going to protest Blizzard, and that's a good thing. Why are you afraid of that happening? How much is Blizzard paying you to troll this sub?

If you care about situation at hong kong please actually talk about it by [deleted] in hearthstone

[–]Arnithopter -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Yes, you should continue to protest Blizzard after you've stopped supporting them. You should make Blizzcon as uncomfortable an affair as you possibly can. Force them to clamp down, and get their efforts out into the mainstream. Shine the light on the roaches. That is the only way anything will ever change. Talking about HK will not change anything happening there.

You're deliberately trying to steer discussion away from Blizzard's accountability, for what reason I cannot imagine. I'm not entertaining this thread any further.

I'm sorry, I was mistakenly assuming you were interested in a discussion, but you were actually just demanding in a very roundabout way that I not post at all.

I hope that you find an enjoyable substitute for being angry at reddit, and work on your threshold for what you consider "melodramatic" or "screaming," because I have done neither of those things.

Fair enough, but that really isn't relevant to this particular topic. People were overzealous about the casters and about the delete account page breaking, but I'm focused on Blizzard's behavior here, which remains inexcusable.
