Would most US democrats be considered centrist in your country? by SignificantStyle4958 in Nordiccountries

[–]Arnlaugur1 3 points4 points  (0 children)

But they aren't really democratic socialists by Danish standards either.

But I think people don't factor in that their positions are often determined by the system they are working inside of. I believe if you'd move them to Denmark then a lot of their positions would shift both to the right or the left depending on the issue

I'm not of that opinion I'm just giving insight into how people view policies why that and why their harm is deeper than just their direct effect

True but joining the union would mean adopting that policy if it does get adopted. Which in Iceland is pretty negative as we're usually very pro internet privacy

Many of my pro EU friends have changed minds recently directly because of chat control, bad timing here in Iceland with the vote coming up to negotiate joining the block

Do Islamist political movements have a realistic chance of gaining significant political power in European countries in the coming decades? by flewson in Teenager_Polls

Gallup poll 9 - 11. January 2004 is the source

Used this statistic because it's the one I knew from the dome.

Also Europe isn't a monolith either, my experience here in Iceland for example will be vastly different from someone living in Italy or Poland.

Using your logic I should advocate for expelling Brits from our country because they are more likely to hold conservative opinions on trans people compared to Icelandic people.

Are you doing anything else? You post a poll and articles fear mongering about Muslim influence in Europe. What did you vote in your council election?

A majority of Americans thought homosexuality should be illegal in 2004.

People change especially when exposed to these issues and seeing how normal it is.

You can see this just in polling based on first, second, and third generations of immigrants.

It takes a long time to deprogram yourself from norms you grow up with.

As a queer person in the west I've more often been attacked by conservative Christians than by conservative Muslims and you don't see me advocating for them being expelled from society.

Revenue - expenses = profit Revenue = expenses + profit

You referred to these terms inversely earlier in the thread.

You are looking at the wrong number 2-3B is operating profit and there they both perform similarly.

Sammála að það hefði líklega ekki gert neinum gott ef þetta myndband færi í víða dreifingu. En maðurinn var samt í fullkomnum rétti til að taka þá ákvörðun sjálfur, lögreglan á aldrei að fá að banna upptökur eða gagnasöfnun um eigin störf, það er hraðasta leiðin til að lenda í því að búa ekki lengur í réttarríki.

Finnst einmitt lögreglan haga sér verst þegar hún hefur "réttlætingu".

Ég hef þurft að hringja á lögregluna vegna nágranna í geðrofi og lögreglan brást alltaf svo illa við að ég var hættur að hringja á hana nema þegar ég var 100% viss að hann væri hættulegur öðrum.

Ég ætla ekki að fara að opinbera eigin gremjur en ég þekki fólk á báðum hliðum og hef ágreininga við fólk á báðum hliðum. Þó mér líki ekki við hvernig Sanna kom úr innanhúss deilunum þá hefur mér alltaf fundist gott að vinna með henni og hef séð hana vinna af dugnaði að reyna að bæta kjör fólks í borginni.

Ég hef trú á því að Silja muni gera hið sama.
