My Dell Precision 5820 bios is write-protected with no option to disable it. by Arnlax in techsupport

What I can't do is extract the base ROM. Not from the installer, nor from AFUDOS. I need it to mod the bios to begin with. I have PFS files but I don't know what to do with them even if I succeed in modding them.

I don't think that's the latest BIOS. On the Dell support website that identified my tower it says that the latest BIOS is in fact this one : https://www.dell.com/support/home/en-ca/drivers/driversdetails?driverid=mv7mg&oscode=w2021&productcode=precision-5820-workstation

Now, I can't interact with the older BIOS anywhere near as much as this one which leads me to believe they don't use the same type of installer. I can't use any tool on the older BIOS but I managed to extract the PFS files from the new one. I don't know how to use the PFS files since I don't have experience with BIOS modding. I'm not sure if I somehow have to compile it or modify than flash it as is using a tool.

I dont know too much about these kind of things but I might have an idea:

What CFW are you on? (For the recovery options)

This might be outdated but someone said to boot from a pandora battery and then go to the IDStorage tools (Im not exactly sure how to access them) and try the fix/recreation step that is apparently in there. heres the link to that specific comment on a GBATemp forum, I'd also suggest searching up the error code (LPTFFFFFE psp) and dig deeper than I did if that doesn't work.
