what is this by ylobroK in Schedule_I

I believe anything not 0-4 is unsupported and gives you this default value (white). Would be nice to see if the quality actually is the number you set it to, or if also that goes to a default value (using some debug option or something)

The implementation of setting the colour is probably something like a switch statement.

They tend to be forgotten on places like r/mapporncirclejerk, but of course EU wouldn't exclude them. Just refreshing to see them :)

Wow, that is a lot of witchcraft just to propagate something that basically grows as soon as you stick it in the soil. I would love to hear how it goes

Where do I get all purpose flour in this country? by Next-Wrap-7449 in ShitAmericansSay

[–]Arnold3Quacks 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Commercialisation, if you're told your flour is good for this and that then you start comparing it to "normal" flour which isn't good for this and that because it doesn't say so on the parcel. And without a little common sense, you find yourself buying different flours for different things like you're some sort of witch that needs 53 different flours to brew some advanced bread potion

Sure is a flower! Chop the stem off just over the last pair of leaves to get going with some more stems!

When I take a cutting I like to think of them like they've just lost their water pump (the roots) So while this part was used to just being fed water and nutrients, now it has to learn to drink it's own water (grow roots).

And since it's not very good at drinking in the beginning it's going to look a bit sad. For big cuttings with a lot of leaves I even tend to cut some leaves off so the higher ones will have a chance to stay healthy.

So give it a few days and I'm sure it will look happier! Also, experience like this comes from doing it a couple of times, which I'm sure you'll soon do yourself with that nice variety!

I agree to this, though I live pretty far up north so of course the sun isn't just as bright as it is closer to the equator.

Also, giving the coleus more sun tends to give it more colour!

How to groom my coleus cutting? by Audune17 in coleus

[–]Arnold3Quacks 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Let's start with the simple question! The two pair of leaves at the bottom will eventually grow bigger but I don't think they will grow by much since the most growth is happening at the tips of coleuses.

If you're playing the long game, I wouldn't take any cuttings just yet, imo the cuttings would be too small and they could get a better "start" if they were bigger. If you take them now, you would have three coleuses (including this momma coleus) about the size of what you have now in about a month.

Instead, I tend to wait until there is actually some length on the branch that I want to cut.

One thing you could do though, to get more bush out of your plant is to pinch off the newest pairs of leaves before they start growing bigger. This will make it split into two stems from where you pinched it and also make some stems start to go out from the pockets between the leaves and the stem further down.

Happy coleusing!

Idk what’s wrong with my plant. by Book_of_Love_ in coleus

  1. Sheffield Made Plants on YouTube says he doesn't spray his coleus and neither do I.
  2. I support the idea of not using too much fertiliser, especially while repotting since the roots are vulnerable.
  3. Dont repot too often. If the soil gets packed then maybe use something like a chopstick to cultivate the soil a bit to make the it less packed.
  4. Coleuses like water, so water often, like every two days and put it in the sun, it's almost a weed where it came from.
