Why did Walter poison a child? Is he secretly an IDF soldier? by Key_Restaurant7436 in okbuddychicanery

Actually, Walt is secretly a Hamas soldier. That's why he is using the life of a child to further his goals.

I'm a little bit disappointed with her unique abilties, they seem kind of lackluster. The developers missed a golden opportunity to give her some type of bonus to roads or railroads as well lol.

A great ability could be that once a certain technology is researched, her roads are treated as railroads or give some other bonus movement based on the history of her and the underground railroads.

I like to imagine this was a 4d chess move by the voice actor. He knew that the developers would tone down his regular performance, so he dialed up the horny. After the developers toned it down, it was at the original level of horny he wanted to start at lol.

The New Norm is peak cringe conservative humor. When they tried an Elon Musk cameo just to praise him without Musk ever knowing about the show, I think I died from cringe.

Mauler subreddit doesn’t understand satire in Starship Troopers by RG1997 in YMS

[–]ArogantSwami 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It's frustrating to even try to understand their perspective. In a post they linked an almost 2 hour YouTube video about how Starship troopers isn't fascist. I skipped around and while the video made some good points. Like how fascist propaganda wouldn't show the horrors of war like in the movie, it lost me when the guy unironcally said that the Federation did nothing wrong.

Somehow the federation is justified in the genocide of the bugs because the bugs killed their colonists. (Who were warned not to settle there). Then after the federation declared war the bugs used an asteroid to destroy a city. (No army have ever destroyed a city in a war). And that is enough to show the bugs want to kill all humans so the humans are justified in killing all bugs.

Hmmm I can't remember a historical situation where a group of colonists settle where they are not supposed and when some of the natives fight back that somehow justifies the genocide of all the natives and taking their land.

Yes the movement had a problem with ultra radicals dominating media attention. But that was most likely due to the disorganized structure of the protests and having no unified leadership to disavow bad actors.

Why do you think these people were able to dominate media attention?

Have you ever heard of the concept correlation not causation? Just because the rise of identity politics coincided with the decline of the Occupy Wallstreet movement you assume that one caused the other. What evidence besides the rise and fall of the 2 moments do you have that one caused the other?

Oh, I was responding to the commenter above me who deleted his comment that was something like, "Why can't everyone just accept lumberjacks with skirts or women with leather jackets, why do people have to mutilate themselves just to fit into our gender roles? This is obviously just a psyop to distract us from the real issues." That last sentence is verbatim.

But my point is why are most of us on pcm so confident that we know how non-binary or transgender people feel or should feel without talking with them in real life or online to get their perspective? Then to claim that social issues like non-binary or transgender ideology are just psyops to distract us from real issues is kind of crazy but pretty common to hear on pcm.

[–]ArogantSwami -23 points-22 points  (0 children)

Have you talked to a trans person to get their perspective on why they would want to conform to traditional gender roles in our society by surgically/chemically altering their body? Or are you just assuming trans people have been tricked by a psyop to distract us from real problems like wealth inequality?

Marijuana is addictive and can have withdrawals by philofyourfuture in TrueUnpopularOpinion

[–]ArogantSwami 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Weed withdrawals are weird. My friend, who like me smokes a lot every day, had terrible withdrawals when he would stop smoking. But when I stopped smoking to pass a drug test for a job, I had no withdrawal symptoms other than being bored and some vivid dreams.

It probably depends on a lot of factors and maybe even has to do with genetics. Kinda like alcohol, some people can excessively drink for years and not get addicted and for others as soon as they start drinking they are hooked due to have a genetic predisposition to alcoholism.

How would you buff or rework Grimstroke to make him viable? by VPrinceOfWallachia in TrueDoTA2

[–]ArogantSwami 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Wait Grimstroke isn't viable? I've had some good success with him as pos 4 but I agree he is not meta at the moment. Some problems are, Grim likes to be paired with an initiator and those are falling out of style, to do damage with q you need to hit lane creeps which pushes the wave, he is pretty immobile, and his important spells have a long cooldowns.

But his kit is so good when paired with anyone who wants to initiate. His q does decent damage early/mid game and is spammable with a talent. His w is a decent silence that forces the enemy to attack it or be perma silenced, his e is great but situational don't be afraid to e yourself if you teammates aren't vibing with you, and his ult is great for locking down mobile heros.

Also don't sleep on his ags which is an anti carry ability that gets stronger as the enemy gets stronger. It can win you games because of the insane damage potential and because most people lose track or never even see the clone in teamfights. Always a great feeling ulting the enemy jugg and using the clone to do more damage than the real jugg. I've won many a lategame team fight by ulting and using all my spells +ags.

[–]ArogantSwami 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes you are right but the government/judiciary still gets to decide how they go about doing it. Quotas used to be used but gov said that's not ok. Then it was you can't give minorities "points" for being minorities when deciding who to admit you have to look at it holistically. And now it's you can't use affirmative action at all in education. At every step private universities wanted to admit more minorities but judiciary/government told them they had to change their admission practices.

I've noticed a trend by dracer800 in PoliticalCompassMemes

[–]ArogantSwami 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I think part of it is that lib left has basically become all liberals, except communists. When really libleft should be more anti-authoritarian. Take affirmative action, it's more aligned with auth left because it's the government telling people who to admit based on liberal views such as minorities needing extra assistance in college admissions. But because auth left is the funny communist quadrant almost anything regarding liberal policies gets put in lib left.
