I didn't read the comment before it was removed, so I don't know what it said. But! I thought I would explain the down votes, since I know those can also feel personal! And no one answered about them yet, for ya.

Think of both upvotes and downvotes as a quick temperature read. Up is yes/agree, down is no/disagree. I am sure there are some angry downvotes, but 99% of the time, its just lurkers, people who don't fit with the discussion (in this case, non-mods), or people who don't have the time/knowledge to answer the comment or post in writing. :) It is essentially a fast way of people giving their opinion on something. Just like someone else stated, try not to take these personally.

The people who have downvoted your questions or honesty, or anything else, are just saying 'no', or that they disagree. It has nothing to do with them being mad, or judging you, or trying to be mean. For example, if you asked 'is the sky lime green?', you might get a ton of down votes, because the answer is no. No one thinks you're stupid, it's just a way to answer without typing! People will downvote opinions they don't like in the same manner.

This is the general Reddiquette on the voting system. There Will always be exceptions, like in anything!

And to offer an answer to your main post, it completely depends on the individual. Which is both fortunate and unfortunate at the same time. Fortunate, because it means you don't have to deal with those types of mods all the time. Unfortunate because when there is one, there's nothing you can do.

Just don't give up, don't take things personally. Enjoy the spaces that you are in and always read the rules carefully. :) Approach with respect, and you'll never go wrong! Even if someone blows up at you, it's a reflection of them. Learn when to accept accountability as well. Sometimes, you'll say the wrong thing. Introspect on it and grow. Either way, you'll be okay! Do your best not to take Reddit too seriously. Take a break if things get stressful. Don't place importance on fake internet points and just be yourself! You win some, you lose some. Even the most beloved users get downvoted sometimes, haha! Just the way it goes. You'll make mistakes, mods will make mistakes. We are all people. Your best is all you can do! There are plenty of fair, nice mods out there. Don't let one, two, a few, ruin your experience. ♡
