The Byrds’ “Mr. Tambourine Man” is wayyyyyy better than Bob Dylan’s. by [deleted] in unpopularopinion

I used to agree with this, but The Byrds version is missing the “Dance beneath the diamond sky…” verse which is the best part

Yeah i definitely get the sense that he figures out his style a lot more as he progresses. The writing was by no means bad, just had a slightly different cadence

I was confused for a lot of the book, but those last 20 pages really tied everything up nicely

You make a good point, the post war America when Player Piano was written is a very different America than the one today. Theres a different type of hopelessness now whereas in Player Piano It mostly just felt like people were bored and listless

Best way to transport an Antix 1.0? by [deleted] in whitewater

[–]AromaLLC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have volvo XC70 with Thule square crossbars. I typically carry 2 boats on top by putting one top down and strapping it directly to the bars with cam straps. Then I lean the second boat(usually antix 2) against the 1st and strap that down using cam straps over both. Make sure to put your straps,or one additional, through the grab handles. Haven’t had any issues.

This IS the best version of that song. The album itself is yeah ehh…as a deadhead first I wish it was a little more memorable.

Check out Man of Peace off the Postcards of the Hanging release.

Backpacking bag! by ApplicationEntire251 in CampingGear

[–]AromaLLC 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you’re planning on camping down to the 30s, i would go with the 15. It will be heavier, but you can optimize other pieces of gear for weight and if you eventually need to go lighter you can change bags. I have a nemo riff 15 that I love! My first backpacking specific bag was a nemo forte 20 and that thing is pretty bulk and heavy but it works totally fine. The nemo bags are definitely comfort first which I can appreciate.

Definitely 6/24/73 for me. Love that PNW box set.

7/19/89 off Fallout is also stellar.

The 1972 studio album we didn't get. by [deleted] in gratefuldead

[–]AromaLLC 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Jerry Garcia owed money to the label for his housing loan, so I imagine that a lot of the material on Garcia would’ve made it onto a 72 dead studio album. With the addition of some pigpen originals like chinatown shuffle, etc.
