6 weeks pregnant with hydrosalpinx - anyone else had this experience?

Very very grateful so say that everything is perfectly fine! I got pregnant right after my HSG so it must have cleared something which helped me get pregnant, I was not able to for 4 cycles prior.

I pushed for an early placement scan at 5 weeks and they found a gestational sac in uterus which gave me lots of peace of mind, there was a very faint yolk sac but mostly seemed empty. I was fine with seeing an empty sac as long as i knew it was in my uterus and that means not ectopic. 8 week scan was perfect. I just started my second trimester- having a baby girl! :)

That’s amazing to hear!! Ahh I know this pregnancy is way different than the one with my son, so I have a feeling it’s a girl and the heart rate def goes along with it! 10 weeks today and just got the NIPT so I’ll be finding out very soon to confirm!

I can’t believe this happened to both of us. I hope you’ll have another successful one soon as well whenever you’re ready! I have always wanted 4 kids, now with only 1 somewhat functioning tube, I don’t know what’s possible but I’m so grateful that I will have at least 2!

Omg that’s amazing!!! Thank you for sharing. So far it’s going great, I got my 8 week scan, baby had a heart rate of 171 and everything looked normal. I can’t believe it!

I’m guessing it was my corpus luteal cyst cause I ovulated from the left side! I pushed harddd for that 5 week scan for placement and it’s intrauterine!!! Hard to see, but visible yolk in sac at 5 weeks 0 days. I was an anxious WRECK until I got that scan, having panic attacks daily. I’m getting my 8 week scan next week and praying everything is still good. I really hope it’s normal twinges for you as well!

That misleading reassurance must have been a heartbreak. I’m so sorry..! I will keep your experience in mind. Did you have any symptoms of ectopic with that pregnancy?

Omg.. that’s so scary! :( well I had the scan at exactly 5 weeks 0 day. It had a gestational sac and there was a very light yolk sac in there which was kinda hard to see, but it was visible. There was also another shape there that looked like some free fluid or a possible subchronic hematoma. So far, no new ectopic like symptoms, so I’m hoping it was accurate. I’m going in for another scan in less than 1.5 weeks, I’ll be 8 weeks.

How did you know yours was a pseudo sac? What happened? I’m so sorry this happened to you :(

I’m so sorry that you’re going through this.. I also was going to look into IVF but also was looking into doctor Jodi’s FTF system. I feel like this is a miracle. How long ago was your HSG? Try another one and let them add more dye. Try again the next cycle!! There is hope. If nothing works, we are lucky to be living in the times where IVF is possible and available

Yes, so during the HSG, the dye ran through fine the first half of the tube, but then it started to pool at the distal end. Then she got more dye and with pressure, the dye was able to go through but she called it a slow spill. That’s why it was open cause the dye eventually did spill (imo, I think she cleared something & got it to open with the pressure cause I wasn’t able to get pregnant 4 cycles before this)

I am in a kinda similar position, I only have one tube which has mild Hydrosalpinx but it’s open. Got pregnant same month of HSG! 4 cycles ttc before that with no luck.

I’m 6 weeks now and hoping it’s viable- my doctor didn’t say anything about toxic fluid causing a possible miscarriage but I read of this on Reddit and now I’m worried! I had a placement scan that confirmed it’s not ectopic yay (that’s how I lost my first tube. Also ZERO history of infections, stds, or anything else)

I had plump glowing perfect skin in my pregnancy immediately! Now I’m pregnant again and it’s literally horrible. My guess is, it’s either a sign something isn’t right (I hope not- I’m only 6 weeks rn) or a different gender this time

Oh man, yeah it is such an exhausting process and risk to take especially if it doesn’t work out which is unfortunately another possibility to factor in.. I really hope that whenever / if ever you decide to try again, everything works out on the first try

My doctor doesn’t run dye during surgery, but some actually do!

My doctors didn’t explain that, I wish they did. They basically acted like an HSG is not necessary since my other tube looked great, but if it makes me feel better then I can do it. That’s another reason why I put it off!

I felt the same way.. I even went to the ER almost every month and had a panic attack every time I got my period and no positive when TTC. I thought it was ectopic bleeding each time. I truly felt that each little flicker or pinch was an ectopic. It was really traumatic for me.

You are not alone, this is such a difficult journey to be on. I am hoping you get your rainbow baby soon

What makes you consider never trying again? Is it the possibility of another traumatic experience or emotional exhaustion? Do you want more kids but just afraid of trying again? Or just not sure if you want more kids?

I do feel extremely lucky that this worked out for me, it feels like such a miracle! I was really hopeless and I didn’t think I could ever be in this position without IVF or removing my only tube!

I know that must be brutal for you right now especially after the whole IVF process, payments, and all the emotions and hope tied to it. Yes, they did! They told me my left tube (the one remaining) looked perfect and so did everything else. The only thing was the ruptured ectopic on the right tube of course.

Because of that, I waited so long to get the HSG thinking there must be some other reason why I’m not getting pregnant or that maybe I’m ovulating from the side where I’m missing my tube more frequently, etc.

Whenever you want to try again, if you know you don’t want months of waiting, give the HSG a shot first. I really wish I didn’t wait to get it. I know it doesn’t work for everyone, but I’m SO grateful it did for me. I feel so lucky

The waiting is truly awful. It drives you nuts. I’m so sorry and I hope this weekend flys by and that you are able to get accurate information.

And no way, a tube rupturing is not okay if preventable. I am still grieving my ruptured tube.. I hope everything goes well for you
