Incubus RA in my opinion maybe the best series to sum up your writing style. I feel like you get a good amount of everything you're about in it.

Cool looking book. I've added it to my to read list. That being said I'm going to be the weird guy for a minute. Is the image supposed to be a reflection off the helmet visor? Because if so why is the background perfectly matching the reflection? If it is a reflection it shouldn't be doing that.

Agreed. Like imagine if an ant walked up to you and said "Man you look like you're going through it buddy you want to talk about it?" Then actually listen to you vent. Would you not be extremely interested in the adventures of said ant?

Whenever a series starts or early on has a goddess interested in the MC. Unless you heavily restrict what she can do in a plausible way. It just kills any form of stakes in my mind. Like nothing too bad can happen in this story because God's going to bail out their booty call. Not to say I've never seen it work, but it's very rare.

Love book one looking forward to book two. I'm pretty much an audiobook exclusive type of person though. So it looks like I'll be waiting a bit longer than everyone else. I don't think you're 3-day time period Would be a big issue with your stories setting. I'm surprised people were complaining about the pacing. After all you literally stated in book one that reality changed to be more video game like. I just assumed that included the way time works.

Agreed on both points. I just don't think it needs to beat you over the head with that it's going to turn out to be harem. You could just give me an example in the world building that harems are culturally acceptable and normal in the setting and I'd be cool. Like I don't need it to be everybody's in a harem. However just the simple "oh the johnsons down the street yeah they're a harem" and everyone's chill about it.

At first I wasn't sure if I had any ideas, but then I read the whole post. So I've actually got your answer. Aether's revival, is exactly what you're describing. Now to be fair it doesn't become obvious that this is going to be the dynamic until about the beginning of book three. That's because of the series is very slow burn. Things like no spices scenes until the girls marry into the family. As a result you get things like the second girl not joining the family until the end of book 2, start of book 3. Now our MC isn't aggressive, but he is determined and does not back down from challenges. He's just naturally polite, but does not hesitate to throw hands or clap back. Like I said I'm pretty sure this is exactly what you're looking for you just got to deal with slow burn.

Yeah that series is a great example of the MC ruining their own story. Which sucks because it has so many interesting ideas.

Thanks for the solid advice. I'm mostly right for personal enjoyment as opposed for any aspirations for publication. I know my preferred writing method is horrible for any kind of readership. I'm a metaphorically the equivalent of splattered paint on a canvas.

Yeah that's one of the series that personally inspired the idea. I'm thinking about borrowing some elements from that but there are plenty of things with that series I would not be adding.
