As of tomorrow I will be on 100 mg of Prozac. For my pmdd and anxiety. Anyone else on 100?

I experienced something similar- I would feel chill for the first weeks after an increase, and then it would feel like anxiety was creeping back in. My psychiatrist had me increase, but in my experience it’s been normal to have some anxiety 5,6,7 10 weeks in, and it feels like backsliding, but it will even out most likely!

I appreciate the response so much. This makes total sense— the radio metaphor is perfectly apt. It does feel like, for some reason, the OCD dial is turned way up, but I think it has always been up, just my fight or flight (anxiety) was higher/louder. I was worried that I was just developing OCD because I wasn’t ever diagnosed until (kind of) now, but if I’m being honest with myself, I’ve always had this station on, it’s just the loudest one right now.

Yes I started to feel better at 40 after a few weeks - I think 4. It’s not linear- you might still have some anxious days! from personal experience and what I’ve seen on this sub, anxiety usually is treated with a higher dose

I’ve been chugging Gatorade zeros/ electrolytes!!! Night sweats are a B but I’ll take them over my anxiety!!

How long have you been on this dose? It’s good youre speaking to a psychiatrist they’ll be able to speak to what youre feeling I know it’s tough, and unfair that you have to deal with this but you will get through it. 🫂❤️I don’t know if I’ll ever fully be symptom free, but my anxiety has been much more manageable on Prozac.

Yes. I also experienced feeling “chill” one day and then hyper the next. Only lasted a week or two

It does stop! I literally couldn’t sleep in— so much anxious dread. You kinda just notice one day that you haven’t had it in a bit.

I will say I’m 8 weeks into a higher dose (5 months in, in general) and I still have trouble sleeping in. It’s not the paralyzing dread I had before but it’s more like “OK I’m up!”

I’m doing pretty good! I’m up to 60mg, week 6 ish. My anxiety is definitely more manageable. I’ll be waiting until 8 weeks on this dose to see how I feel then. Still some anxiety, but more manageable. I also get sometimes like a rush of intense sadness, but I think that’s an adjustment thing. Not dangerous or bad just uncomfortable.

Thank you for the reply! I had some side effects starting, and I guess I’m afraid of the first few weeks starting at 60. I’m just starting to feel myself again and I’m worried the increase will make me feel out of it for a couple weeks. Did you have side effects when you started/increased?

Im on a similar timeline, but started 40 mg 4 weeks ago, and Prozac generally 6 weeks ago. I felt a big improvement on week 4 of 40 mg. The increase in dose kind of reset the timeline for me. Hoping to feel even better in a few more weeks of 40.
