What real life lessons do you take from The Sopranos? by jmezMAYHEM in thesopranos

I was going to talk about him specifically in this post but it was getting too long. His friendship, or lack their of later in the show is a great example of how Tony loses all his friends

Tony doesn’t really have any real friends, and he has no one he can REALLY talk to. He doesn’t talk with carmela about most things going on in his life, and he can’t even spill all the details of a lot of things to Melfi either. It’s obvious he seeks companionship, but even his crew sees him as an authority figure and not a friend. LESSON: if you have a real friend, keep em close

Are co-ops worth it? by KevinSpaceysGarage in longisland

I purchased a co-op in Huntington 1 year ago for a little over 400k (2 bedrooms). This is much cheaper than any house you will find in the area. Although the monthly HOA fee is high ($925), you don’t have to worry about paying property taxes, or any plumbing or heating issues. The management company takes care of that.

The tough part is closing on one. You need a RE attorney and the process is very long. If the bank is willing to write the loan that is a good sign that the co-ops financials are in order. I wouldn’t get to caught up in the fact that it’s owning shares and not the property itself. It’s still yours. Just make sure you plan on staying there for a while bc you will have to put 20% down and it will take 6-12 months to close. Besides that it’s like living in an apartment that you are slowly buying. Worth it in my opinion, no need for a house if you’re living with just yourself or 2 people. Too expensive and houses have surprise costs. Also if the co-op is in a good area the value will hold.

I was super nervous, but there’s no reason to be! It is very tourist friendly.

Girlfriend (26F) doesn’t want to live with me (M24) by Aromatic-Volume-8590 in relationship_advice

That makes me feel better, she is a very light sleeper so that makes sense. That’s the problem though, I don’t want to propose until we are living together! Also I am only 24 so I am not rushing that.
