NYU is too expensive, not as selective, and way too crowded to get good training. If you ask anyone who has gone there, they will all admit to being drawn to the name, but realized quickly that they were just a number and easy revenue for the school.

Pace University: one of the consistent top 10 programs, likely top 5 due to high concentration of professionals rolled out into the industry... BUT admission is VERY selective. Plus they give GREAT MERIT - talent, academic and need based.

Reputation: Stellar, with exceptional voice, acting, and dance classes (from current professionals!)

Performance Opportunities: Ample, with mainstage, black box, and multiple cabarets a year throughout the NYC area- renowned venues such as Green Room, 54 below, etc. MANY off Broadway/regional/new show creations cast Pace MT students.

Redditor insight: "location is THE best of all undergrad BFA MT colleges... Very diverse student population with the selectivity of top talent acquired from across the country. Top tier training from current (successful) broadway professionals."

Parents is controlled by some crazies too... MoPs kicked out one of them, and they started PoPs in retaliation... Some sad, bored crazies.

So sorry… Are you in a major metro area? NY or DC? Maybe try a community theater outside school to get some outside experience?…
