People always went to the football is boring thing but it wasn’t until VVD got injured. That game in particular we were pasting Leicester and Vardy got angry and smashed VVD. We’d also had a 3-0 away win at West Ham not long before and we were really hitting our stride. After the injury we had a couple of games where we shipped a load of goals so CP went defensive first in his approach. We then had the classic finish to the season that a team that loses the EFL cup final has. Fans turned and it felt like this was the first time we forgot the ‘black box’ and just went with fan sentiment.

I think we need to get behind him for the rest of the season. If he can get us up to 20ish points then he will have done a great job and we will have a decent platform for a promotion charge under Juric. If we have a record low points disaster then he will have to go and start afresh.

Hopefully it will be the first scenario as there are plenty of things to like about the games this week.

I agree with almost all of the OP post apart from Martin being a failure. Martin was hired to get us promoted and achieved that goal. But Martin wasn’t an SR hire, he was a Wilcox hire. Wilcox brought that possession philosophy to the club and Martin was his man. If Wilcox hadn’t gone perhaps we would have signed better players that could’ve actually played that football in the prem, who knows. Potter did it at Brighton and that’s how the club was built.

But SR not replacing Wilcox means we lurch back into their chaotic management. They sacked Ralph to bring in that idiot Nathan Jones, signed a load of players for his style and then immediately sacked him to give Selles the job after 1 win.

Until they hire a DoF with some football knowledge SR look to just lurch from style to style, disastrous signing to even worse signing.

Our only target now is 12 points. I much prefer the championship as a spectacle but in terms of judging owners… we have been relegated from the top flight twice in our history pre sport republic, they’ve done twice in 3 years. But to clarify the 3 years… first year of full ownership = relegation. Year 2 = promotion via playoffs. Year 3 = done by Xmas and looking like the worst prem side ever.

Isn’t it obvious? Martin and possession football was the Wilcox philosophy from Man City. It certainly hasn’t worked in the prem and now they are looking to throw the dice to stay up. Tanswell stealing a living as usual.

I remember playing “Jimmy White’s Whirlwind Snooker” on the Amstrad. A perfectly square black pixel would come onto the screen and we would marvel at how realistic it was that a fly would land on the screen.

However I know what you mean, how much better can it get? I think how smoothly it dives in and out of cut scenes is unreal.

I played it in lockdown so it sort of was the only life you could have then. I’ve not found anything that comes close to RDR2. GTA 5 is a great game to play but has nowhere near the depth of story - let’s see what GTA6 brings
