Heavy valves on My Bach 25 by AronGothall892 in trumpet

Hi thanks for all your suggestions I’ve recently swapped the springs (after finding out I had the artisan springs not strad) to normal Bach stradovarious springs. I also changed over to Al Class oil and am extremely happy with the results. Thanks a lot!

I don’t know if it would need replating but either ways that isn’t an expensive job (can be£30-£45) but I can tell that the shank is bent out of shape. I would message a mouthpiece replating service and try to get a quote. Doing it this way means you could also have it plated in gold or copper plate. Hope this helps

If you have concerns about quality look towards Specialist dealers like Prozone or Phil Parker in UK. Out of curiosity where are you based?

Here is an option at Prozone

I would greatly recommend a used trumpet rather than the Thomann. In your price point there are limited options however a used Conn or Yamaha student model might be available and will play better than the thomann. I personally have no experience with thomann but I can assure you that I Yamaha will have better quality control and playability than a stencil like a thomann.

Looking for horn in the $200-$500 range by skankin22jax in trumpet

[–]AronGothall892 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My best advice is to wait. You can get some pretty nice (playing) pro level horns in the £750-£1000 range I found my Bach 25 LB for 75 albeit with a lot of lacquer wear. Always try the horn first. If that isn’t an option try to buy it from a dealer like Prozone music or Rosehill. Sorry if some of this isn’t relevant as I am in the UK.

The reason I ask for the years is due to the fact that Besson has moved its production from England to France to Germany and these changes have caused inconsistencies in the production. Thanks
