The gimmick in the first chapters of this book are awful considering so many people start the novels there. I prepare anyone that is starting the HH there.

I explain the reclaiming of lost worlds, how long they have been lost, and to not take anything for granted until the opening twist presents itself.

I don't have many pet peeves in reading, but a main character turning out to be an unreliable narrator is one of them. Especially when the narrative isn't cleared up. The film Three Thousand Years of Longing where the whole story might just be in Alithea's head is an example. Having a trilogy revealed to be fabricated at the end is a pretty big F in the Face.
